Setting the Record Straight

I would like to clear something up. First of all I HAVE engaged in SOME thrash talking. I am guilty as charged. Now, I have not gone to extremes and don't make a habbit of insulting ANYONE. Whatever it is that I'm doing, it seems to be upsetting some of the memeber here. I don't wish for anyone to leave because of me, so, I will not be responding to ANYONE who wishes to trash talk with me. I will ignore every insult thrown my way. I hope this will satisfy everyone who is so upset with me.

What I will not do is stop calling people out on things that I feel are untrue. I do not play devil's advocate. I say things I believe and just because they don't jive with the majority of the doomsayers on here, it ain't gonna stop me from posting what I believe.

Besides the trash talking that some BELIEVE I go around doing, there seems to be a couple of things that people take exeception to me saying. Some take execption to me calling their loyalty to the Saints into question. Maybe some of you are more of a Saints fan than I think you are, but it sure seems there are some that take way too much enjoyment out of bashing this team.

Well, I could sit here and write a book but I won't. Let me just say this. The name calling by me has stopped. If there are anymore problems that some of you have with me -- LET ME KNOW --

I am not writing this to stick up for anyone, and personally I have never taken offense at my own loyalty to the Saints being called into question because I bash the team. But I do feel kindred to those people who express unhappiness with the Saints when they play badly and call out the problems they see in the team and coaching.

For myself, I am miserable for three days after each Saints game when they play like they do. I want to rage and vent because we put on such a poor showing. I want them to win SO BADLY! Come game time, I am on my feet shouting down at the field or at the television. I am physically cheering and sometime I even \"Boo\" in my own living room at a bad call by the zebras. Basically, my somewhat rabid behavior when it comes to the Saints drives my wife and daughter to visit the in-laws every Sunday.

I also want to bash them when they play badly. Because I am so passionate about this game, I want the team to be passionate as well! When I see someone just laughing off something I care a lot about, I want to just shake some sense into them and yell, \"HAVE SOME PRIDE! YOU ARE A PLAYING FOR MY TEAM!\"

Sue me if that passion for my team translates into frustration and sometimes a seriously negative assessment of the lifeless play I see on recent Sundays. Dislike me because I desperately want them to win and am willing to make any change necessary to spark something, ANYTHING, to get a win.

I suspect that most of the people who post to this board and bash the Saints feel like I do. Saints fans are passionate. We hang by our team year in and year out, even though our combined record has more than a hundred more ticks in the \"Losses\" collumn over the life of our team. That is loyalty. That is a fan and every single one of them has earned the right to call themselves a \"True Fan.\"

Just the opinion of a \"rabid\" Saints fan, that everyone in my office makes fun of because I love them so much and they\'ve been playing so poorly.

CBS Sportsline .

Biggest team disappointment

The Saints had the look or a playoff team before the season, now they might not win six games. Injuries have hurt, but quarterback Aaron Brooks has not stepped up his play.

08, you hit the nail on the head. Sometimes you have to take a step backwards to go forward. We have to have a bad season this year to get rid of Haz/Brooks in order to right the ship. That\'s the only thing that will fix this.

Yes, folks, it\'s just that easy. And don\'t question his expertise, he played football and has season tickets. HURAH!
