Saints vs Niners: Monday Night Game
First things first, I want to apologize to everyone, because due to financial problems, I will not be able to buy the tickets that I thought i was. I am going to the game though, one way or the other, and I'm just curious, if anyone else is planning to go, because I would like to hook up with some folks from the BnG, while I'm there. Monday night game in the stick baby, it's going to be a barnburner.

Re: Saints vs Niners: Monday Night Game
My wife and I are looking into tix. We live in L.A. so it is only a 45 min flight. I will keep you posted if we can get to the game. We normally go to NOLA at least 1 game a year, but this year we might have to stay locally.

Re: Saints vs Niners: Monday Night Game
I got some friends from the SLC looking into it. (most of the ones going are SF fans) i don't care about that. Im still thinking about this one.

Re: Saints vs Niners: Monday Night Game
Oh the last time I was there, I think it was 07, or 08, not sure, there were ALOT of Saints fans. That was before we won the SB. I have a feeling that there will be a sea of black and gold this time around.

Re: Saints vs Niners: Monday Night Game
In in San Francisco...considering getting tickets too.
|
Re: Saints vs Niners: Monday Night Game
I got 40 tickets to the game and have about 20 of those going to my NOLA peeps that are coming into town. I am taking 2 days off of work and bringing 2 grills to start tailgating early. We are gonna take over a section of the parking lot. I will let all the Who Dats know where we are gonna be.

Re: Saints vs Niners: Monday Night Game

I'll also be attending the game. I went in 2007 when we absolutely destroyed the 9ers and there were a lot of us out there, even then. Should be a great game and atmosphere.
edit: I'm sitting in the Lower East Stands (behind the Saints) at the 50, about 30 rows up if anyone is in that area. |
Barnburner... You did say 49ers right?

Have fun at the game. I won't be able to make this one, but I am going to game 5 against Arizona at U of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale. |
i would go...i'll have to see if i have the leave to head up there for 2 days.
|
SOunds like a great time - I am hella jelous.
|
going to miss this one. sorry
|
Hopefully it's not infamously cold at the Stick. I WILL be prepared nonetheless.
|
I'm too excited for this game. I know a lot of 9er fans feeling confident, even with Alex Smith as their starting QB ahahaha!
|
in SF but cant afford it.
I can tell you that the black majic voodoo lounge is THE best place for saints fans in the bay. arguably the best saints bar outside of new orleans SF and NOLA have always had a kindred spirit as cities so there are alot of saints fans in the bay. thats where i will be. |
oh, and old rivalries never die. i STILL consider the 9ers the enemy.

Ahhh...Candlestick Park. I have a few memories... Croix de Candlestick... Throwing stuff at Dodger fans... Hurricane in the outfield... Some lady PA announcer... Porter's windswept home-run...I thought it was a fly-out to 2nd base... And, oh...that crazy crab...but, here is my favorite Candlestick story... I decided to take my wife and my 2 nephews to a Giants' game. I was driving on the exit ramp off the freeway, and I was looking for tickets. I had stopped to ask a few guys, but so far, I had not found what I was looking for. All the sudden, a cop car pulls up to the passenger side of my car and the cop hollers, "You lookin' for tickets?" I didn't quite know what to say right then, because I was afraid that he was about to bust me for negotiating with scalpers, or something... Anyway, I reluctantly answered, "Uhhh...yeah?" He holds out 4 tickets and says, "Here...I got these." Now at this point I'm not quite sure what he's up to...so, after a few seconds of deliberation, I respond, "How much do you want?" He replies, with a rather irritated look on his face, "I'm not selling 'em, I'm giving them to you!" I reply, "Oh, well in that case...THANKS!" He drives away, and just as I start to roll my window up, this dude comes walking by and says, "You should give me some money...those were my tickets." I told him, "OK...just wait right there, I'll be right back with your money!" Anyway, no attempt to hi-jack your thread, StP...I just read these threads and usually just post what's on my mind at the time. Carry-on. |
I'm loving this. How times have changed. Now its us in the catbirds seat. While I'm lucky to be going to one game this season, it won't be this one, however you can be assured that the big rig will be parked and I will find a TV somewhere to see it.

Amen to that!! I remember those old Saints/9ers games in Candlestick, so many heartbreaking losses (at the last second, usually). The 9ers are one of those teams, when we have the opportunity to play, brings back memories. Big Rivalry!! |
Good thing they don't still have Jerry Rice and Steve Young or Joe Montana lol.

While it is an above average Saints bar it is nowhere near the top. Woodrow's in Houston easily holds that distinction. I did enjoy the free food at the Voodoo but a major portion of the crowd was just there to be seen there and were not really interested in the game. |
This game should be a KO for our offense
|
"I get the opportunity to evaluate Saints bars all over the world. I was at the Black Magic Voodoo Lounge last year for the Bills game.

Thanks for the tip - Ill be there in November. Perhaps a thread should be started on Saints bars around the country. gotta consider (outside of bandwagoners) houston is a city that is close enough to have a lot of die hards. many in Atlanta too. Used to be one there near Roswell that was awesome. sure alot of bandwagoners at Voodoo - of course - i welcome them. I was a fan before they got here and i will be as fan after they jump on another one. for now SF knows how to party and Ill be at the voodoo. |
I haven't bought a ticket yet. I was wondering what section everyone going, is planning to take over, and I will hopefully buy one there. Someone let me know asap.

My bro-in-law just called to inform me that we're going to the game!!! Even better ... He refuses to go to games unless he sits ciurtside/front row ... I'm 99.9% sure we'll be in either section 29, 31, or 33 which puts us right behind the Saints bench - where we were in the Dome for the Cardinals playoff game last year ... I'm STOKED! I've converted him to the WHO DAT NATION and he LOVES to tailgate ... Someone post where the pre game tailgating will be and we'll see you there!
I can't wait!!! |
^ I've heard it will be in the bus area, there actually will probably be many whodats at this game so you can find em.
does anyone elses game ticket say "game 3" ? |
Oh man, just found out I got a free ticket to this game! This is awesome, last time I saw the Saints play at candlestick not only did we demolish the Niner's, but there were plenty of folks there representing the Who Dat nation. Can't wait till Monday!
|
The Niners will be extremely hungry for a win.
The Saints have had extra time to prepare. I hope someone in the media says the Saints will be rusty. It sure helped last time. :/ |
Got my popcorn read, seems like the Vikings game was two weeks ago!
