Official 'who saw the game' analysis thread
So, I couldn't watch the game, who saw it, what did you see?
|
lots of missed tackles by the starters on D. our starting O started off slow, but had a nice 20 play drive on their final drive. casillas had a good game when he was in, i like his chances of getting more playing time this year. ivory and gallette all looked like they could make the final squad.
other than that the main thing that sticks out to me was poor special teams coverage...oh and beavers had a nice return for a TD. |
Saints vs. Patriots very brief analysis
|
special team coach should be held down and let someone tickle his toes. ivory looked good on offense but nowhere to be found on special teams kickoff coverage. p.j hill had better game overall. my take

Beavers return was pretty impressive (97 yards). I didn't quite see who it was who threw the block to spring him open, but it was textbook. Tackling was shoddy on defense, and special teams defense was even worse. Arrington had a solid game with one heckuva 51-yard reception at one point. I was more impressed with Daniel (the interception wasn't his fault) than Ramsey. The 20-play drive on the 1st team's only score chewed up 10 minutes off the clock. Casillas was playing like he had something to prove. Gallette, Pressley, and Wood looked fairly solid with the 2nd and 3rd teams. There will probably be a week-long class on tackling fundamentals this week.
In short, there are a few things that need much improvement, and there are some other things that just need some tweaking. Coming back from a 24-7 deficit to tie it up in the 4th quarter was gutsy. They just allowed too many big plays, and it bit them in the butt in the end. |
I was there.
|
great game , no one will show anything. That fact that the Patriots lets us come back speaks volumes. Brees our OF 4 quarters there dead. Everyone knows we are a 2-4th quarter team.

The Patrots' cheerleaders were H. O. T!

Wait till i post some pictures. Hey Rita was there She a pretty woman.

In 1967 the Saints went 5-1 in preseason and then went on to win about 2 or 3 games in the regular season. Preseason is what it is...the season that doesn't count before they actually start the season that does count.
We as tax paying citizens are being bilked for millions and millions of dollars every year to watch something that doesn't really count for anything except assist coaches make up their mind about their upcoming roster...which I believe any coach could do in practice. Get rid of the preseason games and make them all count!! Everyone would be on the same playing field. Did I mention that I detest preseason. |

Thought we looked like we needed more practice. Good thing there is about another month to go. Glad to see Drew and company stay on the field until they got it right.
With all of that- I wouldn't read anything into it |
not me, LB. I LOVE preseason! As long as nobody gets hurt, you cant lose! I think you need practice games/ live action to properly evaluate talent. There's always some new hot-shot that lights everything up and gets us all excited, and they all put on their shiny helmets and play what looks exactly like football. If you win, great. If you dont, who cares. Woo!
Sing along with me, "Its the Most... Wonderful... Time... of the Yeaaaaaaar!" |

First...the question. If Mrs. Sippi wore Miss Uri's new jersey, what would Della wear? And now, the treat... You know you want it...you know you need it...what is it? It's KARAOKE Seventy-three men sailed up From the San Francisco Bay, Rolled off of their ship And here's what they had to say. "We're callin' everyone to ride along To another shore, We can laugh our lives away and be free once more." But no one heard them callin', No one came at all, 'Cause they were too busy watchin' Those old raindrops fall. As a storm was blowin' Out on the peaceful sea, Seventy-three men sailed off To history. Ride, captain ride Upon your mystery ship, Be amazed at the friends You have here on your trip. Ride captain ride Upon your mystery ship, On your way to a world That others might have missed. (Instrumental) Seventy-three men sailed up From the San Francisco Bay, Got off their ship And here's what they had to say.
