Kittner to start at QB against Saints
Kittner named starting QB for Saints game
Staff reports Doug Johnson is out and Kurt Kittner is in as starting quarterback for the Falcons. Kittner, a second-year pro from Illinois, will make his first NFL start Sunday against the New Orleans Saints at the Georgia Dome. Kittner worked with the first-team offense for the first time this season in practice Wednesday afternoon, and head coach Dan Reeves confirmed the switch afterward. Johnson, a third-year quarterback from Florida, took over the starting job after Mike Vick broke his right fibula in an Aug. 16 preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens. But Johnson has played poorly in Atlanta's six games, completing only 97 of 168 passes with 10 interceptions and only six touchdowns. After Sunday's game, the Falcons have a bye week, and Vick is expected to return to the starting lineup Nov. 2 against the Philadelphia Eagles. |

This is actually bad news. There is alot of footage to be watched on Johnson\'s play and very little of Kittner\'s. Probably a wrinkle we didn\'t need. I think skill wise, neither is an upgrade over the other. The predictability is a nice edge if we had a choice.

GAME OVER!
Woe to us, woe to us. We\'re totally screwed! Why even bother taking the field if Kittner plays. Vick\'s never going to get onto the field again. Mike Vick is Atlanta\'s Jeff Blake. Kittner will throw for 6 td\'s and run for 4 more! If it weren\'t for bad luck, we\'d have no luck at all. Everybody start taking out your bags now Gloom, despair, agony on me. |

I agree. But, it is his first NFL start. If we can\'t rattle Kittner and he beats us, then we don\'t deserve to win. The facons offensive line is a very weak area of their team. From what I\'ve been reading, Johnson hangs on to the ball too long. Kitter is suppose to have a very quick release. Who the hell knows what to expect no matter who plays QB. All I know is this is a game we MUST win.
The Saints and Atlanta have played the 2 toughest schedules to date, so I don\'t if the Falcons are as bad as advertised. [Edited on 15/10/2003 by BillyCarpenter1] |

We should all be smiling... If anything, HAZ and The Vent have proved in the past they can shut down mediocre/green QB\'s
Ramsey last year. Miller last year. Carr and Kordel this year. My adivce... Blitz on first down, Blitz on second down, Blitz on third down and then go for the Block. Pressure |

Are you kidding?!? This is great. I agree completely Frank. Get in this kid\'s face and he\'ll crack. Wow. I\'m really optimistic all of a sudden. We could win this one in a walk. This kid might throw 4 picks... not that we\'ll catch them but...

Yes, after six games we have exactly ZERO interceptions by our secondary. Kittner must be shaking in his boots....
Maybe we should try out our linebackers at the corner position, they seem to be the only one\'s able to catch a friggin ball. [Edited on 16/10/2003 by BlackandBlue] |

If we luck out, Kitner will play like he did agianst my Tigers in the Sugar Bowl two years ago. He does that, we\'ll spank that Faclon ass.
