Reggie to be stripped of Heisman Award.

Sources: Trust to take Bush's Heisman - College Football - Rivals.com

Tough break, Reggie. I figured this was coming, though.

strato 09-07-2010 08:59 AM

This has got to effect his psyche, though. Being banned from the grounds of the University he loves and was basically in his backyard. They take down his trophy there. Now he gets the award stripped from him. Plus, the media is going to hound him about this any chance they get. I hope he is thick-skinned enough to let this all bounce off of him, but I figure this has to bother him a good bit when past mistakes come back to haunt him.

Srgt. Hulka 09-07-2010 09:04 AM

So now who gets it, some second stringer?

Sounds like a Vikings fan chose to make this decision right now.

Nobody. The award is going to be completely vacated.

Excactly....and they cant take that ring without his finger....2 Dat!!!

RaginCajun83 09-07-2010 09:34 AM

but yet OJ gets to keep his and USC has no problem with his being in thier "hall of fame" what a joke

Speedy Ron 09-07-2010 09:58 AM

if i were reggie i would tell usc and heisman people to shove that trophy up their ass. he can still keep the one he has at his house. i would also wear my superbowl ring when i hand it back to them.

SapperSaint 09-07-2010 10:15 AM

So a double murderer can keep his....but a guy who had his families rent paid for gets his stripped.

Makes perfect sense.

Euphoria 09-07-2010 10:18 AM

I can agree with the penalties for USC, and Reggie and for whoever else broke the rules.

Here is the problem...

The agent who gave the money, nothing happens to them.

NFL needs to step in and impose bans on these crooks who help and corrupted the system.

homerj07 09-07-2010 10:20 AM

Oh I see taking money or whatever he did changed how he played the game??

If they were going to do this it should have been 4 years ago - NOT NOW

strato 09-07-2010 10:26 AM

The Heisman curse has been lifted..Run Reggie run!!!!!

Could affect where one plays his college ball. One can then argue if he played for say Tiffin or Temple he wouldn't have got all those yards. There needs to be a penalty for breaking the rules. I don't have a problem with that but the knuckle head who gave him the money still gets to do his thing without a slap on the wrist. I don't think that is fair at all.

You tell 'em Euph.;)

QBREES9 09-07-2010 11:11 AM

Yeah I have to agree in make no sense. That agent should losses all his NFL Clients. Not be allowed to work with NFL players.

breesfan27 09-07-2010 11:17 AM

Poor Reggie. This is just horrible.

What he said.

DRsaints 09-07-2010 01:49 PM

Well he knows he won it. Sucks that they're making him give it back. Everyone around the world saw him win it though. You can't change that. That's what I don't get about stripping awards. I thought the same about Brian Cushing's award. Even if you hate the guy, it doesn't change the fact that he won the award.

Euphoria 09-07-2010 02:02 PM

But you can't let a guy who cheats get away with it.

DRsaints 09-07-2010 02:05 PM

Yeah you're right, but it depends how they define "cheat". In Reggie's case, money has nothing to do with playing the game, besides maybe a little comfort.

You got a point here.... he runs the first 3000 yards in a single season in NFL.... showing the Texans they made a mistake picking supermario.

You would have to shut down college football to put a stop to what Reggie did. The NCAA is a joke.

strato 09-07-2010 03:49 PM

The thing that pisses me off is its right before we play on thursday....I hope Reggie blocks this crap out and runs wild on Minnhaha...Use it for motivation Reggie..show em brah!!

73Saint 09-07-2010 04:00 PM

But I heard after the report initially came out, that it was reported inaccurately by Yahoo Sports. Someone on ESPN said they spoke with the committee that decides this (an independent panel of professionals), and that the report was untrue...that No decision had been made. Almost made me think it was propaganda intentionally leaked by yahoo sports (AKA viking fan)...

Did anyone else see this? It was on ESPN at around 11-ish, CST....

Cruize 09-07-2010 04:02 PM

I'm all for the people who broke the rules to actually get punished in some way. For the most part that doesn't happen. The players left at the schools always get punished by not being able to play for titles and in bowl games. Reggie knowingly broke the rules. If they remove his name from the Heisman, oh well.

NFL.com news: Heisman Trust leader denies decision to revoke Bush's trophy

Crusader 09-07-2010 04:20 PM

Well I can bet everything I own Bush is not the first Heisman winner who did that but the first to get caugh. If he had signed with those guys we would never have heard about this.

Story not true:

Heisman Director: Yahoo Report ?Completely False?
