Vikings have no excuses now

After NFCCG we all know about the whining that took place, Vikings said they were going to embarrass us, it was a hard fought game, well what's your excuse now? 2 DAT!!!

TopCow 09-09-2010 10:33 PM

Vikings do not need to make excuses. Al Michaels spent the entire second half doing it for them. So let them detract. TWO DAAAAAAAT.

|Mitch| 09-09-2010 10:34 PM

#1 excuse = no Sidney Rice

C17-BING 09-09-2010 10:35 PM

I felt like we tried to give it away too many times tonight ... BUT ... WE WON ... TWO DAT!!!

subguy 09-09-2010 10:37 PM

Agree... thank God the D stepped up. Favre did not seem confident with any receivers in the 2nd half

And to think Ap the fumble queen guaranteed a win

|Mitch| 09-09-2010 10:40 PM

Favre didn't look confident at all, I dont think he really wants to play anymore.

Srgt. Hulka 09-09-2010 10:41 PM

Favre looked scared to me. My wife even noticed it.

C17-BING 09-09-2010 10:42 PM

I think Favre will be fine ... he's missing that deep threat w/Rice being out ... I just think there was A LOT of emotion tonight for both teams and fortunately for us we overcame ... Mainly because of our defense

Think he was aggravated w/ his receivers. But in actuality, he should realize that that's what happens when u skip training camp and you're the freaking tin man. Oil in his ankle, lol!

A sample of thread title on rubechat:

"Official Fire Chilly thread"
"Official Officials suck threat"
"9 points....9 *** points"

it's great lololololol

Not our prettiest game but I'll take it.

Wow the server didn't crash? Shocking.

This game confirmed every possible worse fear I had for the '10 Vikings. The secondary is f'ed up, the recievers and Favre were off, no 3rd down back, McKinnie is p***y, Sullivan can't block, not enough playmakers in any 3 areas outside of Peterson and Harvin, the run defense looked a year older and Chilly won't stay out of the way...Brett's decision making was bad too...9-7

*edit: F*** Asher Allen...just terrible...anyone on this board could've done better than he did in coverage.

Saints didn't look like world beaters either, a little sloppy but that won't stay that way. Defense was alright...can't really say with how out of it the Vikings looked on offense at times. Establishing the run makes them MUCH tougher than when they just try and throw it...if the Saints in particular can do both...that's just scary...Likely 13-3 or 12-4.

Srgt. Hulka 09-09-2010 10:55 PM

Brett Favre didn't complete a pass the whole third quarter.
Bwaaaa Haaaaaa Haaaaaa

Srgt. Hulka 09-09-2010 10:56 PM

Favre on tv. Let's see if he cries! LOL

Shot himself in the leg on that one. Dumbass!

Man, they are the biggest bunch of hypocrites out there. They call us the Aints and make Katrina jokes, but whine and cry when we make fun of their QB and call them the Viqueens.

They can make all the excuses in the world, we beat them fair and square.

Euphoria 09-10-2010 12:04 AM

We have injuries as well... We didn't have Sharper in so call it a draw.

Not bad observation... Maybe the Saints D is just a tad better... and they might have shown the world this team is not just a bad ass offense.

saintsfan1976 09-10-2010 06:44 AM

Want a different outcome? Then hope your team makes it back to NOLA for the NFCCG.

TheDeuce 09-10-2010 07:30 AM

Overall a solid performance. Brees was pretty much awesome. The running game was solid in the second half (can't really blame them in the first half... hard to get any momentum when you only run it 4 times a half).

I think the offensive line deserves the most props of all for this win. Brees was barely touched, and Bushrod in particular did a phenomenal job against Jared Allen. Nicks was a beast and a half on run blocking.

Also, saw Gene Woja-whatever his name is on ESPN.com this morning. Total bullcrap article. No love for the defense which absolutely shut down the Vikings. Just saying that the Saints are "in trouble" for some reason. Last year doesn't matter... this team has handled winning a franchise's first Super Bowl about as well as you could ask them to, and they've approached this season like true professionals. I don't see any hangover, I see a team that played their first game of the regular season against a Super Bowl contender, and won. The defense dominated, the offense had their moments but had the consistency that you might expect in a week one (not to mention Minnesota's defense is very good), and our kicker missed two easy field goals. We're going to be just fine.

I agree Deuce. Bushrod deserves mad props, for his shutting down Allen. I seem to remember someone saying, "How much trouble we were going to be in, if we lost Brown at LT." Obviously NOT.

Choupique 09-10-2010 08:06 AM

Allen played? I didn't even notice the mullethead.

:/

Boutte 09-10-2010 08:53 AM

I just read a Vikings fan complain that they gave us the game because of the oil spill. They lost because they didn't call Vilma for interference on his int.

LOL!

You missed one of the biggest problems with your Vikings. Childress is an absolute idiot. 2:40 on the clock and no time out... WTF??? However if he had any sense he would have jetted Favre like Green Bay did and drafted a QB .

|Mitch| 09-10-2010 09:36 AM

And the thing with them not drafting a QB, even if they knew Favre was coming back.

They now have to ride Favre success or lack of, Tavaris Jackson is the backup for crying out loud.

I would have at least tried to pick up a veteran back-up just in case Favre's ankle doesn't hold up.

But that is going back to Childress being an idiot and thinking Favre will duplicate the best season of his career.

SaintPauly 09-10-2010 09:41 AM

What's the old saying, about excuses and a-holes? Unfortunately, Minnesota seems to have an abundance of both.....

Well Childress learned from Andy Reid on clock management...It's also his fault for bringing just 3 CB's to N.O.

lumm0x 09-10-2010 10:12 AM

They are just not the better team right now. Period.
