Trade for Marshawn Lynch?

Do we trade for Marshawn Lynch and get him acclimated during the bye week?

I mean, hell, the guy could work at Marie Laveau's during the offseason till he gets his contract the way he wants...

jcp026 09-22-2010 08:19 PM

Wouldn't mind having another good RB. If the price is right, there's no reason not to, at least not that I can think of.

jeanpierre 09-22-2010 08:26 PM

Lynch is 24, still young, has some great experience paying in the AFC east; Bill Belichick has a man crush on 'em...

I'd say he's worth a R3 pick or a R6 pick and a WR (i.e. Moore)...

wstcstsaint 09-22-2010 08:36 PM

I don't know if we would want to give up Moore, he can run the routs that Reggie is very good at. I do like the idea of having Marshawn Lynch but I would rather see a trade for Brandon Jacobs. You know how Payton like to look at players with teams he used to be with ie Shockey, Fujita etc

Speedy Ron 09-22-2010 08:41 PM

not really...heres why...he would probably end up getting more money than PT and i think that would piss the guy off. id rather trade for a defensive person. that is our obvious weakness. we need LBs badly. vilma cant do it all himself, $hitle really showed his ass last game, and whoever it is that fills in on the other side is usually pretty sorry

QBREES9 09-22-2010 11:15 PM

Very good point SpeedyRon

jeanpierre 09-23-2010 04:57 AM

Linebacker and Defensive Tackle are the most glaring weaknesses on this 2010 Saints squad; yet we are still in denial about those positions see the 2010 draft results...

But Lynch would be a far better running back than Pierre Thomas; look at what Lynch has done on some pretty bad Bills teams; think what he could do in a Sean Payton scheme...

Lynch has the home run threat at the RB position that Thomas does not; and a good running game spells as good as other additions...

Really think Saints should take a look at this one...

Choupique 09-23-2010 05:26 AM

I say we trade a few fans for a needed player. They'd likely be more loyal.

Crusader 09-23-2010 05:30 AM

Lynch has som skills but is also a headcase. I would not want him to play for the Saints.

SapperSaint 09-23-2010 08:44 AM

I'm with Speedy. I think we need a linebacker.

papz 09-23-2010 08:57 AM

Being how pathetic their offense is currently, I don't believe they can lose any weapons on offense. The Bills have also said he's not on the market I believe. We'll be just fine in the backfield. I'm looking forward to see Evans get a few more touches back there.

Rugby Saint II 09-23-2010 04:08 PM

If we sign him that would be fine for the immediate future. Can you imagine how much our back field would cost us next year? PT deserves a raise and I just don't see Reggie taking a pay cut.

st thomas 09-23-2010 04:13 PM

D. TACKLE to help against the run or a stuffing LB. ya'll right

Euphoria 09-23-2010 04:21 PM

No we don't trade.

We deal with what we have... a promising RB in Ivory.

No need to push the panic buttons.

Whatever the cost is it will be to much. Giving up players, not an option. Giving up draft picks, really? No. I don't believe is selling the future for now. That only ends up hurting teams in the long run.

st thomas 09-23-2010 04:50 PM

eup, its never going to happen but we can be optimistic, lynch ain't payton's cup-o-tea first of all, but if it would happen what would be your choice?

SaintPauly 09-23-2010 05:24 PM

No. Our offense is based around the pass, more than the run anyway. Defense needs more help than the offense.

DRsaints 09-23-2010 05:55 PM

One of the reasons the Bills don't want to trade Lynch is because his contract is dirt cheap.

MatthewT 09-23-2010 06:38 PM

The Saints should be fine at RB. No real need to panic or start dealing draft picks. Even if things get worse this year at the position, there are still a handful of guys left that can be brought in and at least do respectable.

HUH? Did you read my post? Because what I said is more likely going to happen - "go with what we have".

You must have me confused with someone else.

jeanpierre 09-26-2010 04:21 PM

Have Pierre Thomas getting smacked around...

And the rookie getting stuffed...

And with, Ladell Betts left...

We need a running back to keep the "D" off the field...

This team can absorb Lynch...

QBREES9 09-26-2010 10:51 PM

Bills don't want to trade Lynch, because they need him.

jeanpierre 10-01-2010 07:11 AM

Bills are going to trade a running back and Lynch makes the most since to move...

I love PT, but I'd rather have the talent of Lynch and a contract in that level of talent than PT who's playing at a max level now...

The RB situation has become a priority need for the Saints whether we as fans want to acknowledge that fact...

Keeping the Defense off the field (less film for future opponents to view) and staying fresh (it is a long season)...

Biggest needs RB, DT, and LB...

And RB would make the biggest impact...

And Lynch would geaux off in this offense...

jeanpierre 10-01-2010 07:24 AM

Lynch rumors to Packers are picking up speed...

Saints need to make a play or at least drive the price for Ted Thompson...
