STATE ONE REASON ...

Why we lost this game ... ONLY ONE!!!

1. Brees trying to be Favresque

Danno 09-26-2010 04:00 PM

We were outplayed.

Cory9289 09-26-2010 04:02 PM

Brees? Are you kidding? The only Farve type throw he did wasn't his fault. Thomas gave up on the play and didn't go for the catch.

1.) three turnovers
2.) missed field goal
3.) coaching mistakes - moving ball, decided to kick - then iced our own kicker. Time Out when we blocked kick, and more
4.) offense could not sustain a drive the entire game so the defense was worn out
5.) Falcons out played us by not making stupid mistakes

Saint_LB 09-26-2010 04:15 PM

because when it was all said and done...they had more points

jeanpierre 09-26-2010 04:16 PM

Atlanta had beaten down the line all game and we had a chance to ram a touchdown down their throat and send a message that we are the champs...

And we kick on First down?!? WTF?!?

Who is the Coach, Sean Payton or Jim Mora?!?

Ram the MF down their throat and remind them who's Daddy...

i agree halo just put the kick no# 5

C17-BING 09-26-2010 04:26 PM

Exactly why I asked ... Lots of different opinions ... In the end we obviously lost (which sucks), but we all knew it would happen sooner or later. It just hurts a little more when it's either atlanta or dallass ...

SaintPauly 09-26-2010 04:28 PM

that performance was not only sad, it was depressing..... This defense is TERRIBLE. The couldn't stop a consumer from a bad movie choice. Malcolm Jenkins is NOT Darren Sharper. So I expect all of the Sharper critics, to STHU. You are an ignorant person, but that's ok. HE IS NOT READY TO TAKE OVER AT FS. You were stupid, that's ok. Now you know. If I hear ONE person in here, trying to come in here with a positive outlook, I will personally come to your house, drag you out of your mom's basement, and monkey stomp y0u, in your front yard! This loss was the worst we have had in a long time. This defense is terrible. Absolutely terrible. Obviously, our secondary isn't as "great" as we thought it was. JUST SHUT THE F UP.....

Euphoria 09-26-2010 04:30 PM

You guys are kidding me right?

Sure some bad plays but we were in it just like any other game. When the game is on the line you make a play to win and Hartley did not make the play.

SaintPauly 09-26-2010 04:34 PM

You are right..... Let's all hug, and sing songs......

CheramieIII 09-26-2010 04:35 PM

Missed a field goal

C17-BING 09-26-2010 04:37 PM

Saint Paul ... You should go kick 504's ass ... He called this before the game even started!!!

I'm with you though on almost everything you said ... I get it that it's only week 3, but we don't even look close ...

SaintPauly 09-26-2010 04:42 PM

Here's my beef... and let me make it completely clear.. I'm going to say things that are going to piss the "so-called faithful" off. DREW IS OFF. He has been off, since the season started. His passes are off mark, and he's got happy feet. The defense? Looking like they just started playing defense a week ago. Porter and Greer, ARE PLAYING OUT OF POSITION. Due to blitzing schemes, they are standing at the LOS, while the WR's are twenty yards in front of them. Hey! I have an idea! Let's have another parade........

spkb25 09-26-2010 04:44 PM

Mistakes which always leads to missed opportunities

saints1234 09-26-2010 05:10 PM

Drew did what was asked of him in the end, the defense did what was asked of them in overtime. and Hartley choked he should be cut and shipped out on the next fairy. everyone else need to just calm down and get there heads togther.

Halo 09-26-2010 05:11 PM

Ok, Drew has been off. He engaged and came on strong today.

If you want to talk about a "BEEF" then what about the play calls on the offense? Apparently we now ONLY run out of a shotgun and ONLY throw every down.

It's like we have to throw in a run play once in a blue moon just because it looks "good" or something. I'm not impressed.

And we throw so much, where are the points? We're not scoring touchdowns.

No sustained drives = Defense on the field the whole game = fail

We missed a kick today but we needs some tuning on offense too.

The defense did their job? Wasn't it the defense, that let the Falcons offense drive down the field, and kick the winning field goal? Or was it the offense's fault?

Defense handed the ball to the offense to give us an opportunity to win it. We went down and we missed a FG.

The defense did not turn it over 3 times. I thought they let up some plays, but they gave us the ball to allow us to tie, and they gave us the chance to win in OT. Can't really ask for more

yes the D gave up the field goal in the end, but i was talking about the first drive the falcons had in overtime. the D did there job and gave it back to Brees

When you Guys went for the tie with 9 seconds left. I can't believe you did not try one more shot at the win. It is almost like you got a free play at the win. If the quick hitter is not there you throw it away with 2 to 3 seconds left. That I think was kind of dumb. JMO.

Whether by pass or run, we need to get Pierre Thomas more involved in the offense earlier in games.

winmill1 09-26-2010 06:24 PM

This is my thoughts- Drew WAS off week 1,2, and the beginning of this game. He appeared to be tight and a little hesistant, focusing on check downs instead of looking for deep routes. I think the reason he was looking for the check downs is because he was rusty missing on passes he usually easily connects on. I had a feeling this game would knock the cobwebs off because we would have to throw alot and the tempo would be high. Sometime in the first half I believe Drew became the Drew we know. Devery dropped perfectly thrown ball that probably turns the tide our way. I think Henderson should field some of the blame. I think the one good thing is that Drew now feels comfortable and will start where he left off.

D- The defense does seem to be missing Sharper. I think that Jenkins has the tools to play the position but Sharpers wisdom is irreplaceable. I think our Secondary fed off his knowledge and swagger. His loss is having a negative effect. Shanle looked very slow. It seemed like Sedrick Ellis is having a breakout year. If our O keeps our D rested we hold Turner to 60 yds on the ground. He didn't start gashing us until they were spent. Patrick Robinson looks very raw. I think our Dline is ten times better than it was last year and it will show when our O can control the clock.

Hartley- I would have made the exact same decision that SP made with the field goal. Ivory had fumbled, Pierre had just had his ankle twisted, Drew made some strange turnovers and the Falcons were trying to strip ball. It's a chip shot, that any kicker makes 44 out of 45 times. And I don't think we cut him at this time. I think he needs some work on that isolated kick that he seems to struggle with.

I think this game really opened our eyes knocked some dust off and I think that we click on all cylinders here on out.

satch 09-26-2010 06:24 PM

Hartley.
All teams have ups and downs, but this team came back and put themselves in a position to win and Hartley choked.

nutria 09-26-2010 06:54 PM

We don't match up well to teams that run with big backs, Atlanta=Good Running Team, Turner=Big Back.

They crammed it down our throats on the last drive. Vilma looses in the hole with a big back.

Cruize 09-26-2010 06:54 PM

It happens.

breesfan27 09-26-2010 09:16 PM

Since I can only list one thing...

They scored more points than we did.

Our defense was on the field 3/4 of the time, got tired and couldn't stop the run or rush the passer. We have to do a better job of running the football.

BREESUS CHRIST...
I've been dying to do that for years.

Well it was a loss... the first one in a very long time that meant anything.
I've got to say, we were in it all the way to the end despite playing a bad game. This is the mark of a very good football team.

Also, we're not far from being 0-3.

73Saint 09-26-2010 09:36 PM

We got whipped. Plain and simple.

pumpkindriver 09-26-2010 10:03 PM

Not to mention dropped balls. That was a big part of it too.

QBREES9 09-26-2010 10:08 PM

Drew at the end of the game put the Saint in a postion to win and Hartley just missed.

Somebody dropped their balls? That sounds like it would hurt.

Love the avatar Pumpkin.

darstep 09-26-2010 10:26 PM

Because ugly cuts both ways. Just like I said last week, "winning ugly soon turns to losing ugly". It just happened sooner than I expected. Weeks 1, 2, and 3 could have went either way and we are lucky to be 2-1. Until we clean it up, we will be rolling the dice each week and hoping for the best.
