Here's the deal . . .

We lost, did anybody really expect us to win all 16 games this year. If you did you are a fool! We lost . . . deal with it! We have got a lot of work to do on both sides of the ball and with the coaching staff, did anybody expect us to pick up where we left off after the Super Bowl? We didn't . . . deal with it.
We have problems in the kicking game, did anyone expect by what Hartley did last year make him immortal? It didn't . . . deal with it! Brees is having problems with the passing game, did anybody expect that his laser pinpoint accuracy would continue into this year? It hasn't, but it will come around . . . deal with it! Do turnovers make a difference in football games both giving and recieving? They do . . . deal with it! Bottom line we are not the team that won the Super Bowl, the dynamics have changed but we have got to make the appropriate adjustments. It is what it is . . . deal with it!

Hey Goodell . . . This year we will kick ass for free!

You are soooo right! No one can possibly think we would not lose a game. Deal with it and move on. There are are 13 more games to play and this is where our focus should be and will be. Let's start talking about the Panthers game.

Yer I'm just looking forward to next week vs panthers. If i can take a few positives out of the loss its these -

1) Lance Moore is back baby, the real deal!!!
2) Drew is a perfectionist, and he will be back at pinpoint accuracy, disecting defenses for fun.
3)In the first half, the run D looked real good. Even in a couple of goal line stands.

Drew was trying to push too much to make something out of nothing. Credit to their defense for stifling our run game.

How are we as fans not dealing with it? I don't understand the purpose of the thread?

@Lumm0x . . . I sense there are some in our midst that either thought we would go undefeated, that we should have picked up where we left off, that Hartley was faultless or Brees can just turn his laser on and off and we would commit any turnovers. If you are not one of these then you would not understand. All I am saying is we have 13 to go lets concentrate on them one game at a time. As our fearless leader Halo is quoted as saying repeating as Super Bowl champions is a pipe dream!

I just flew back from Houston...and boy are my arms tired...ba da bing!

But seriously folks, I haven't read all the posts. Still, allow me to address some things:

Did I expect us to go undefeated? Damn right. I expect us to win every game, or at least to get beaten rather than to beat ourselves.

Is Hartley faultless? No, he is not, but there is no excuse for missing that little chip shot.

Will we commit turnovers? Yes, but that play where Brees flipped the ball is the worst play I have ever seen him make. He is pitching to a rookie tight end there and not Jeremy. He HAS to know better than to make that kind of a mistake on that end of the field, and I'm sure he's kicked himself solidly over it. Out of us all, you can bet he's not singing zippidy doo dah blah blah blah. I'm sure he's as pissed as I am. If only everyone was...

A week before I was hollering about sloppy play and some people said, "well, they'll get it together". Well they haven't. We more or less played like crap for the 3rd straight week. I'm not going to stick my head in the sand and say everything is going to be ok, we just need to clean up some things...our blah blah blah will get blah blah blah in time blah blah blah.

Repeating is not a pipe dream. It has been done before, and we have the talent to do it, if and when we ever stop playing like poo, and I'm prepared to make statements that go to our weak-ass fundamentals until they improve, and they better improve soon or we'll be looking up at Atlanta.

C'mon Man...

Yeah, I'm not nearly as concerned about being 2-1 as I am about not playing up to our potential.

If we brought our A-game every week we'd be an easy 3-0 right now. I've yet to see us even come close to our A-game this year, but we're 2-1.

It could, and probably should be a lot worse.

I'm still waiting to see the staff and players deal with it. This loss was just as ugly as the 1st two wins. The game was just as sloppy as those two were. We got away with it in weeks 1 and 2, and didn't get away with it this week. Had we won the game, I would still be concerned with how we did it. Sure, the conversation would be about other things and many would be writing about "a win is a win", but the poor quality of play gets to be contageous. Adjustments have to be made and I'll be looking at the Panthers game for some improvement, some consistency and a championship level of effort and execution on both sides of the ball.

You can be sure of one thing!
The Panthers will up their game!
I still think the Saints will win but, not as easily as some people are predicting!
GEAUX SAINTS!
