a little perspective
I think we can all agree that we played like absolute garbage yesterday. We played one of the worse games I have ever seen under Payton. Their was not one team in the league who would not have beat us yesterday we sucked so bad. I think we can all also agree that the performance yesterday was not the norm and will be corrected. That being said, the Falcons brought their A game yesterday. They played with heart, swagger and desire. Even Smith said it was a HARD fought win. Some of the Falcons players were saying it was the best game they have ever played. The Falcons will not perform any better than they did yesterday, and they STILL almost lost. AS ****ty as we played yesterday one thing that makes me feel better is the fact that we played one of our worse games and the Falcons still had to be given the game to pull out the win. We are gonna stomp a mudhole in them next matchup.

Personally, I think you're just a bit off in your overall assessment 504state. Are you willing to say all that to Lance Moore after his career day? I didn't think so...

If you care to, you can read my assessment of the game here:
Saints Fall from Ranks of NFL Undefeateds to Falcons in Overtime Slug Fest | isportsweb |
were fixing to go on a run here. we could come into the pitts game on a roll and if they keep going we may have to knock there ass of the streak. i know its 1 game at a time for the team, i can babble.

504 lol falcunt backer..what about it??

Maybe Hartley took a dive, maybe Ratman got to him before the game. No not really but Dilfer was right the kick should have been knocked through. I think it was Mora Jr. who said that Atlanta stuck with their game plan and rushed the ball down our throats. They knew the longer they could keep Brees sitting next to the Gatorade he couldn't hurt them. Speaking of sidelines does anyone know the status of Sharper?

Hate to say it, but Dilfer is right. I wouldn't be that harsh (yes I would) but the Saints did everything possible to throw that game away and should still have won. I didn't see the Falcons dominate. They were a better team that day because they won, but not because they were the better team absolutely.

Good write-up HeavyD!

heres a little perspective...we lost 1 game to a good team. atl D is coming around and lets face it...ours isnt. Our LBs are some of the worst in the league along with our D line. Alex Brown left a brown stain in his draws after matt ryan ran him over for a first down on 4th and 2. our D is garbage.
|
Now that we have have that out of the way, the loss, we can get back to playing angry like we did last year.

I think the defense for the Saints will have to get better for the Saints to do well. Too much time on the field is going to probably end up with more injuries than normal. If that happens, offensive talent is going to have a hard time overcoming that. A good run game would help eat up the clock and at least keep the defense resting on the sidelines. Bush will be back and fresh when you guys hit the tougher stretch of the schedule. |

Even the two wins bothered me. We didn't look sharp at all...on either side of the ball. None of our games so far have been clean or decisive. We "seem" to have what should be four practice games before we play the Steelers. We should use the next four weeks to sharpen our edges and tighten our belts on everything from pass rushing to run blocking, catching drills to tackling drills, from conditioning to opponent tendency analysis. We should be 6-and-1 going into that prime time matchup on Sunday night. If we keep letting teams hang around, mediocre teams, and have to count on the ball bouncing our way late in the 4th quarter, its going to be a very rough season.
