DARREN SHARPER
Darren Mallory Sharper (don't call me Mallory)
On March 5, 2010, Sharper became an unrestricted free agent, allowing him to sign with another team. However, on May 3, 2010, Sharper re-signed with the Saints for the 2010 season, even though he had micro-fracture arthroscopic surgery on his left knee during the off-season.[8] On September 3rd 2010, Sharper was placed on the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) list, causing him to miss the first six weeks of the 2010 NFL season. So basically we get Bush and Sharper back somewhere around The Steeler Game! |
Good! I think Jenkins needs more time behind Sharp, before he's going to be ready to be a full time starter at FS.
you can tell how much the defense is different without Sharper
Yes, you can... QBs aren't afraid of Jenkins.....
Lol you're right Saint Paul..I think Jenkins would be a better fit at Strong Safety...they are there more for hitting than coverage...but he'll never see the field because Roman Harper has that locked up
Jenkins just doesn't seem to have the ball instincts, that you need for that position. I'm not saying he won't get them eventually, but for now we really need Sharper back. I predict an immediate impact on our secondary, when 42 is back there.
OH.... QBs will no when 42 is in the game... PICK 6 ! ! ! TD HEEEEE SCOOORRREEESSS !!!!
The only Jenkins get better is by playing
I can't wait until he comes back. More Sharper Shakes in the endzone, please!

I'm hoping we play Jenkins/Sharper about 50/50. Shapers experience and Jenkins talents. That split could extend Sharpers career another year, and Jenkins absorbs the masters knowledge for another year. Jenkins will be a pro-bowl FS in 2 more years. We'll probably see a lot of 3 safety nickle packages too, since Jenkins can cover so well. |
can't wait for sharper! but jenkins is playing well too
I'm ready to have Sharper out there running the secondary. It's not just his ball skills but his leadership on the field that excites his team mates. Jenkins will get better but I want Sharper running back interceptions until he no longer can shuffle or crawl. He's a difference maker.
My bet is that Sharper will be in for pure passing downs, whereas Jenkins will be in for run/pass mix downs.
We gotta get more coordination on covering TE's and Backs. There was entirely too much room against the Clowns. |
i knew it was jenk that got there late on whites christmas gift for td. he ran into greer maybe. i was to p.o.ed to look.
I like Jenkins hitting and all, but he does need to shut his mouth and walk away after laying people out. He's gonna cost us some flags if he keeps it up.
NO doubt Jenkins will be productive for quite some time, that being said.....BRING BACK THE BALL HAWK!!!!!
Jenkins still has abit to learn about being a Ball hawk at safety, he's an excellent hitter but sharpers instincts and experience are literally unmatched. If Jenkins can learn the ball hawk part of being a safety from sharper he will be an all pro in a couple of years.
What I like about Jenkins is that in run support, when wrapping up the ball carrier he is always try to force the ball out, that's the effort that coaches notice! |
