He Did Good Today....But Am I The Only One Who Really Wanted To See Shayne Graham or Kris Brown Suit Up....Those Guys Can Put A 47 Yard Kick Through The Uprights.....Hartley Can Only Do It When the Season Is On The Line and Carney's 401K Wont Allow Him To Attempt a 35 Yarder....But All In All Good Game Mr.Carney

i will admit k. brown was on my radar. but we won with poppy. i don't like this because man it looked like the weakest 3 points i ever saw. but we won. i'm thinking its to get him out of town. hartly will start next week.

Saintswrath 10-04-2010 12:46 AM

I hope Hartley returns better than ever, but thanks Carney for doing your job.

RailBoss 10-04-2010 12:59 AM

SP brought Carney in to stop the bleeding and right the ship. What more can you ask for from John Carney the guy is a trooper.

93 year old John Carney was the Saints hero today, scoring 10 points to lead the team to victory over the Carolina Panthers.

I have to say thank you as well JC.

This kick soup is still simmering. I've tasted it and something is still missing. Don't quite know exactly what it is...and I don't like it.

fhotard 10-04-2010 09:38 AM

I heard Coach P. on Sirius NFL this morning. He said they brought Carney back with the intent of getting some stability right away, but to also make Hartley compete for the job again... something to light a spark under him.

Carney can still kick, but let's hope we don't need any 40+ yarders to win.

the difference is. it goes straight.

Im up in the Terrace, and everytime we approach the 11, Im saying out loud, "We're almost in FG range."

Cruize 10-05-2010 06:28 PM

The Saints will carry two kickers. When the playoffs roll around, both will be active.

DRsaints 10-05-2010 08:22 PM

Yeah was definitely nice to see the easy ones go in. I think Hartley can only hit the hard ones.

I agree. He's gotta learn the whole "devil's in the details" thing.

The guy used to be awesome. In fact, he is the ONLY reason we weren't the first team to go 0-16 in 1999 (cringes).

Yes... we all know he's now in his 40s and nothing lasts forever. Just like Brees, he will always be an all time favorite in San Diego and glad he went to a class act franchise to finish his career.

thats a good point. He's like the "Devery" of kicking.

Dont give him something easy, or time to think about it.

Devery has to be upside down, twisted around, and hit by two DB's to catch the ball. He'll drop a screen and catch a bomb. I love the guy.

Carney is the reason we lost in week 3...................................

John & Holly Carney see return to New Orleans Saints as part of divine plan

.......................I can forgive him and his wife as long as we win the next 12 games!
