We Will Come Roaring Back
Not that we're "down," we're 3-2. ok.
Before I give you your one way ticket to Namby Pamby Land, help me help you. Look at it this way. THIS is what it takes to beat us. You have to score 3 TD's with DEFENSE. You need the best QB in football to have a wife nearing labor. You need us to have a boat load of injuries to major players, including both our starting RB's. You need our FG kickers to flake out and miss kicks my daughter could make. . You need Sean Payton to eat a bad breakfast, so his brain doesnt work properly, and he loses his sense of time. You need the ball to bounce wildly away from us TWICE (a 14 point swing.) If the ball bounces correctly on the goal line, we're sitting here now talking about how awesome Greg W's defense is, what a big hit we laid on Joe Schmoe, and how we skunked their O on the way to win #4. I believe Sunday was the first week we didnt have major injuries. We need the ball to do a better job of bouncing correctly. Now do you love Reggie? You should. (Love PT too.) You can put those statistics in your Old Smokey, and light them. We are going to come Roaring back. I said it, and I aint scared. |
Are there free hookers in namby pamby land?

I can't wait for the o-line to dominate a front 4. Only then will we get back on track.
Gotta love the defense. They are pure studs. |
I think the first thing The Saints need to work on is the dropped passes. How many passes have we dropped this year, and for how many yards? How many dropped passes resulted in interceptions? (at least one this weekend on the three yard line). How many dropped passes in the red zone? In the end zone? The answer to all of thes questions is "Way Too Many". I know we have a lot of problems (fumbles, offensive line, etc. etc. etc.), and they all need to be worked on, but if the ball hits you in the hands...catch it!
OK, got that out of my system, I feel a little better now. Time for lunch. |
The only receiver that hasn't gone backwards is Lance Moore. I looked at the Meachem's touchdown again yesterday, and the Henderson bobble-oops - I got it. I'm just glad Meachem's ball hit his tender stuff. That was a drop waiting to happen the way he coralled that thing. Did we get a new receiver coach or something? Even our DBs have multiple drops this year. Only Moore is consistently catching the ball with his hands. Everyone else seems to be digressing to the breadbasket/wrists-arms foolishness; a simple elbow bump would prevent the catch. Give Brees 1 out of the 3 picks - the tip and the desperation attempt are excused. The last pick nearly puched the DB in the mouth...right through his hands, hit him under his chin, and just couldn't manage to make its way to the ground. Hands drills, hands drills, and then more hands drills for the receivers and the DBs.
