Saints get Brown-out: Pwned!

Just when you think you know the defending Super Bowl champs, they go and pull something like this. The New Orleans Saints were outplayed and more importantly outsmarted on Sunday when the Cleveland Browns defeated them handily 30-17
With an impending visit from the Pittsburgh Steelers on Halloween night, the Saints went out and laid a complete egg against the Browns. An egg that included four interceptions from Drew Brees, two of which were returned for touchdowns by linebacker David Bowens. There was a lot more to it though as nothing went right for the home town boys who dropped to 4-3 on the season.
"Any time you throw a pick, you're upset about it. Throw a second pick, you're even more upset of course," said Drew Brees after the game. "We aren't doing the things we preach...win and lose, we know those things. We've won knowing them in the past and we simply aren't doing them now."

This was the most pathetic performance I have ever seen by us, I really don't know how drew threw that pick to fujita, it was about 5 yards behind the intended receiver. The D is not to blame, it's all on drew and the O. This is hard to say because I'm the first guy to praise brees on everything, but they need to really look at themselves and gauge how important this is to them, because it's important to us fans! I hate seeing this type of outing, really frustrates me!!

Halo 10-24-2010 05:39 PM

I was at the game on my family's season tickets.

SO many old school Saints fans were probably saying to themselves "I've heard this music before" and took the opportunity to leave early. Can you blame them? Fans of this team since its inception or just fans for years have seen this before... from old teams like during the Haslett era.

This is what we looked like from the stands: out-coached, unprepared, and our players appeared to be in la-la land.

I think this game raised more questions than ever about this team for many people. Regardless, I think the team has the talent and know how to be successful, just very disappointed in the performance today.

Let's hope they get it straight for next week, I'll be there rooting them on regardless.

Exactly halo, the thing that's most frustrating about it is all the firepower we have on offense, literally all of our offense could have been pro bowlers last year. We've had the number 1 ranked O for like 4 years straight, and all of a sudden we giving teams picks like it's first to 10 ints wins.

This is the kind of loser talk, Ive seen on many sites. Losers talk about chances and how great they think they are, like Dallas, and don't fix the problem. They talk about how they are not worried, because everything will work out, and it dosnt. Not being mean, nothing will be solved in this forum to fix the team, unless we do a huge rally for the team

We all have hope and support the team 101%. But something is wrong.
I think we all thought that sense we had the #1-2 offense for 4 years that was our consistency, our rock. All that we needed was a defense to support it. We got that last year and won a SB, and the defense has done better this year. I think most of us are dumbfounded. Not spoiled, because we are that good.

Now that rock and our consistency for 4 years on offense is falling apart. why? Why has our OL gone from #1-5 for 4 years to #22 in the NFL, and why is Drew trying to force throws like a rookie. I don't know. Im clueless, but there is a problem, and Im wondering how they can fix it, when 7 games was more than enough time.

Drew throwing 4 picks is a good place to start...

We are winning the Super Bowl Strato. I just wish I knew the problem, your right about Drew, not sure what hes thinking.

I love this thread title.....Saints get Brown-out. I was doing that to my drawers on Monday morning.

to me my bro's its the whole shubang, o-line breaking down early, drew not stepping up for a few more looks, our reciever's not trying hard enough to get open. coach pitching a blank to drew. then all the key players out that helped recievers get open and drew throwing to a mostly wide open man. its not there anymore. there was'nt many times when pt and bush out at the same time? the whole team is in a funk and like a seasoned pitcher in a funk has to fight his way out. and it starts sunday night. lets kick some ass.
