Nice game Saints!

Got to give credit where credit is due, you guys did a nice job on defense tonight. I think all those blitzes made Big Ben think he was playing the STEELERS lol. Truth be told though, a lot of steelers fans like myself didn't under estimate this game at all we knew it would come down to Brees vs. our secondary and the Steelers just couldn't defend the pass as good as the run tonight. Our playcalling was just terrible, Mike Wallace is averaging 23 yards per catch and he was targeted what 3 times? Miller didn't even see the ball until the 4th and it looked like we were trying to run the wheels right off of Mendenhall all night. I don't know if you Saints fans know this, but Steeler nation has always hated our OC Bruce Arians and tonight just strengthened it. He flat out drew up another terrible game plan and it was the biggest eye sore of the night for me.

We'll just have to tear up the Bengals next Monday and get back on track. Anyways respect Saints....UNTIL we meet again at Cowboys stadium in February!

st thomas 10-31-2010 11:49 PM

well trap we can say the same for us because we have no running game to speak of as you noticed but for paytons defense he abandoned the run because it was not going to save the day. so lean on the mvp of the prior SB to win it for u and its a huge win for the who-dat nation.

i noticed strato, we have a bad ass de bro.

I thought Ivory was doing pretty good, but then he never came back. Did he get hurt? Anyways, this is one of the best games of the season so far. I love me some D. Goalline stands, hard hits, and everything they had left on the field. My dad, and brother are both Steeler fans, and they called to congratulate. I would love to see a black and gold superbowl. That would be awesome to say the least, as being a Saint since birth, and following the Steelers through since Green, Bradshaw, and Lambert played the game.

Like Strato said; mad quick Defense! Very quick sideline to sideline and reaction speed.

Our D showed up and put quite a bit of pressure on Ben and forced him to hurry up his throws quite a bit.

Look forward to meeting again in Dallas, us being a lot healthier, same result of course...

st thomas 11-01-2010 12:00 AM

IT WAS SO AMAZING HOW THE D WAS SO PUMPED BEFORE THE GAME U KNEW THEY WERE BRINGING IT TONIGHT.

Thanks man, good luck with the rest of your season. Damn your d is fast! Oh, and thanks for beating the bucs and flacs

Trap86 11-01-2010 12:10 AM

lol the Bucs aren't that good you guys will smash them now that you've gotten back into form.

So now that the game is done with, how do you guys think Reggie Bush is going to pan out the rest of the season? I have him on my fantasy team and can't wait for him to be back in action. Will he be back next week?

Halo 11-01-2010 02:50 AM

Reggie should be back next week. He's always an important part of our offense either as a decoy, a blocking back, a WR out of the backfield or a punt returner.

Steelers fan?

During our run to the SB this year, Steeler fans were part of the VERY FEW NFL fans who came to this website with respect and gave us congrats as opposed to "you guys are cheaters" or "your defense is just lucky."

You guys played a hard hitting game tonight. Agree with you on the play call... really on both sides, but the Saints got it together at the last minute.

Damn your QB is a big guy. I dont think Will Smith ever jumped on top of someone who just held him up there for a minute, before he finally just leveraged him down. looked like WWE.

We've had a few "Bruce Arians" OC's in our history, so I feel your pain. If you remember the 80's and early 90s, we were nothing but D. Needless to say, we've been rather pleased with our offensive scheme since '06. Last night, I noticed for the 1st time this year I could not predict what Payton would do next.

Way to man-up, Trap, about your loss. Usually, we either hear how "lucky" we got, or how everyone feels sorry for us because of the Storm- and fixed the game for us. (nobody fixed anything for us in '05, when the Storm happened)

Actually, I was pretty nervous most of the game. Great fight.

See you in Dallas!

Trap, When you've witnessed 6 championship wins, I guess class comes easy. Good luck for the rest of the season. Damn that defense is fast. Who dat for the win!

I was at the game, and had steelers fans sitting behind me, and some where also at the tailgate party I was at. Truly some of the classiest fans I have ever met. You guys can teach the Vikings and Falcons fans a thing or two!!!!! thx

Good game Steelers. The one thing I could not understand is why did Arians not call the QB sneak when only a few inches away from the goalline? Big Ben behind a big offensive line makes sense when all you need is a few inches, and there's probably a 90% chance he makes it in even with the Saints playin great goalline D.

Wasn't it refreshing? I kept wondering if something was wrong with Ivory when I kept seeing Julius Jones. The one thing that still got under my skin was the 8 yard route on 3rd and 9 and the 5 yard completion on 3rd and 7. Are they being told to pull up short then fight for the rest? Steelers did an excellent job getting to the ball and limiting yards after the catch. We need to film/watch their tackling technique and make it our own.

Rugby Saint II 11-01-2010 10:48 AM

The Steelers are a respectable organization and their fans show a lot of class.

Its one of John Madden's cardinal rules: You dont run a 7 yard route, when you need 8 yards.

The other one is: Im the only Raider who can call timeout. In other words, his QB's could not come to the line of scrimmage, survey the defense, then call timeout. Either run the damn play or take a delay of game. Better to lose 5 yards now, than to run out of time at the end.

I agree with Madden.

Yeah I definitely have some respect for Steelers fans. All of the ones I talked to were real classy. There sure was a good bit of terrible towels in the dome too.

I was thinking the same thing man, like I said a lot of Steeler fans are really questioning the game plan today. We were 1st and goal and ran it 3 straight times and got stuffed. The only thing I can think of is they were nervous about giving it to him because of what happened last week in Miami (fumbled on the goal line). I would have liked to see some play action to Miller on 2nd and goal, but I guess we'll never know how that would have gone due to another one of our OC's terrible game plan.

On another note I like the way Darren Sharper and your D played, it looks like you've got a solid D right now and it can take you all the way back to the Superbowl

Saintswrath 11-01-2010 10:10 PM

Black and Yellow Gold will always have respect amongst the Black and Old Gold..

I only dream that my Saints one day in my lifetime have even half the history your team franchise does..

I've hung out with a few of you Steeler fan's before and i have a few Family members that are Steeler fans, it's always a friendly affair, ya'll are always welcomed here and around my neck of the woods, good luck the rest of the way and i hope to see ya'll again around Feb.

Dasidreidia 11-01-2010 10:20 PM

I share everyone's sentiments. Nice to see some class, great game, etc etc. I have seen some not-so-friendly Steelers fans here in Charlotte, but on the whole, Steelers fans have been cordial to me, and I to them. I've always liked the Steelers. Behind the Saints of course.

Here's to a rematch in Cowboys Stadium while Jerry Jones cries and sells the Cowboys.
