Sign Lance Moore long term!!!

I mean seriously! This guy is a one man highlight reel. We need to lock him up in a four, or five year deal, right after the season is over. His value is too important, to even consider letting him go. Across the middle, in the endzone, first down machine. Clutch catches when we need them the most. Let's start a freaking petition to make sure he retires a Saint!

504state 11-01-2010 12:58 AM

Lance Moore has become our best wide reciever.

Turbo Saint 11-01-2010 01:00 AM

completely agree....

as a side note...wtf is wrong w/ colston and the dropsies this year?

SaintPauly 11-01-2010 01:00 AM

I agree 504. When all of our other guys are dropping catchable passes, Lance just keeps bringing it, every down. I think he should be one of our starting WR's. Look at his production. Right now he is playing Reggie's role, but when 25 gets back, Lance should be our number 2 WR. He's earned it by far.

Colston is still the 1st WR. He's in double, and triple coverage, on just about every play. Put Lance in at number 2, move Henderson, and Meach to number 3, and 4, and guaranteed, Colston's numbers increase dramatically. Why is Henderson still at number 2, is what I'm wondering. Yes he's a deep threat, but he's averaging what? 2 catches per game?

LBCutta 11-01-2010 01:04 AM

Lance is by far the Best WR right now. When our O is clicking we are good....and LM is a big part of that.

Because Colston had a decent rookie year coming out of a small school in the second round. He got alot of hype, but never really grew beyond that. He is the most over rated player on our team.

I don't know about that 504. He has had consistent numbers every season, while spending time on the sidelines with injuries galore. Not to mention, as I stated earlier, he's in constant double teams now. Put LM on the other side, and I really think our passing game looks alot better. That is, as soon as Reggie gets back.

Saintswrath 11-01-2010 01:16 AM

So why isn't he signed already?

SaintPauly 11-01-2010 01:20 AM

He signed his one year tenure I believe. Making him a UFA after this season. We also have the Brees contract coming up, so Bush has gotta restructure, so we can get both of them back in the fold.

Cory9289 11-01-2010 01:21 AM

Lance Moore will simmer again when Bush is back.

Nutty.
This guy has been a great WR over the past few years. His size speed and hands, yes hands, makes him the best WR the Saints have. I agree with making Moore a bigger priority but Colston is one of the best WR's the Saints have ever had. Don't get carried away with a few drops he's had this year.

Brees is getting resigned regardless..
Bush.. well.. If he's difficult.. let em walk, every year he misses like 4-6 weeks of the season it seems.

I agree about his coverage. The part about Colston i just cant get by are the drops that hit him in the hands.... Even at High School football level, the standard is if the ball touches your hands there is no excuse for not catching it.

Is he afraid of getting hit? Does he realize he is going to get hit just as hard if he catches it or if he drops it? May as well make the best of the situation and hold onto it.

lynwood 11-01-2010 07:22 AM

Evey reciever is going to have drops. He dropped a couple this game but came up big after those. He does require double teaming and makes catches that are almost impossibe and gets leveled after the catch. No way is he overated.

neugey 11-01-2010 08:01 AM

Lance ran great routes last night and it seems like he's becoming Brees favorite weapon. Yes lock him up.

spkb25 11-01-2010 08:43 AM

love me some LM

QBREES9 11-01-2010 09:04 AM

This man is a beast in every since of the word Lance is and has been our best receiver for a while. Super Bowl the coach call your name. Your the best.

darstep 11-01-2010 01:38 PM

Moore should have gotten the deal when Henderson was signed. We locked down a specialty guy (Henderson) and left Moore, who was and is much more dependable, dangling with two one year deals. Where would we be without Lance Moore's contributions to our success? NONE of the other guys we have can do what Moore does. You can ALMOST guaranty that he will get seperation on 3rd down and ALMOST guaranty that if the ball has air in it, he will catch it. He should get the same term length that Brees gets but only .08 cents on the dollar (Brees dollar that is).

Cruize 11-01-2010 03:21 PM

I like Moore. He's a valuable member of the Saints. But, Collinsworth went way overboard with his praise last night.

dizzle88 11-01-2010 03:30 PM

Trade henderson in the offseason and sign moore to a 4/5 year deal, with the money henderson would have made.

SaintPauly 11-01-2010 03:42 PM

Devery is definately the most inconsistent WR we have. He has had flashes, but no real fire. Seems to have a hard time getting seperation off of the line, and also isn't a really great route runner. If this were a totem pole, he would be on the bottom, that's for sure.

yer devery has great speed and good size, but what sets moore apart is his route running and his incredible hands, two things that devery does not have.

QBREES9 11-01-2010 03:48 PM

Give him the money he wants. Moore is Drew boy.

Cruize 11-02-2010 06:01 AM

For whatever reason, Meachem is the WR that has taken a step back. Henderson really shined last year as the #2 guy. He got deep and caught everything. Now that he's been demoted, he seems to be just going through the motions. I think one of the reason the offense is struggling is all of the above. Shake things up. Put Henderson back at #2, work in Moore and Meachem, and see what happens. Maybe it will light a fire under Henderson and take the pressure off Meachem. They did better last year in those rolls than they are doing this year.

Saint_LB 11-02-2010 06:27 AM

I'm guessing that LM flourishes due to the fact that other people are being double-covered. Don't get me wrong...I do think he is Drew's Wesley Welker and a great receiver... but I'm not so sure how he would do if he were the one drawing the double-coverage.

All of the above is purely speculation...because I have never actually watched to see what type of coverage LM is drawing.

RaginCajun83 11-02-2010 10:09 AM

I'd much rather see Lance fair catch a punt at the 15 then see Reggie return it for minus 5 or muff it all together .... might be time to see what Roby can do as well

Lance has been Drew's most consistant target since he's been here, he runs great routes and finds a way to get 1st downs

Crusader 11-02-2010 12:24 PM

But whats up with that one black eye sticker. Is he trying to look like Nelly?
