Grady Jackson was claimed off of waivers by the Green Bay Packers. They will pick up the reamainder of his salary due this year. What is more interesting is that Carolina also claimed him but he was awarded to the Packers because of their record being worse at this point in the season. Carolina was miffed last week when they attempted to make a play for DT Darrell Russell who signed on short notice with the Redskins after his suspension from the league ended and was released.

I\'m sure there will be folks who will be quick to point out how bad of a mistake this was. But, I don\'t care if Grady goes on to have a Hall-of-Fame career, he needed to be cut. You can\'t be letting the players dictate the rules to the coaches. Good Bye Gravvvvvvy.

Hope you\'re right, Prince. I would have probably done the same thing if I were Haz.

The middle of the D line looks mighty thin now (no pun intended). Can\'t Whitehead play DT? Is Ford back? I think I remember seeing him on the sideline at the TB game.

I just wish Grady hadn\'t been playing so well this year. It makes the whole situation difficult to digest (okay, that one was intentional).

Our defense has been gashed up the middle WITH Grady playing. It has been said Grady has played well at times, but he takes plays off and does not play consistant. Last year\'s experiment with the \"heavy lunch bunch\" proved it takes more than big defensive tackles to stop the run. I have a feeling that part of the problem stopping the run has been Grady Jackson himself. I also have the feeling that with him gone that our run defense is going to be better. If you look at where teams are having success running the ball, it has been straight up the middle, where none other than Grady Jackson has been playing. Once big Grady get\'s moving one direction, it\'s hard for him to change direction and make the tackle. Last week we played our best run defense of the year without Grady. Yeah, Tampa isn\'t the best running team in the league, but Pittman is having his best year as a pro and is averaging over 4 yards per carry. I may be wrong and our defense might suffer without Grady, but I don\'t think so!!

Culpepper drops back, he drops the ball, he dribbles it left, drops it again, dribbles in right , he drops it again, he walks into the endzone for a game clinching 2-point conversion, as 370 lb Grady Jackson watches.

Not only was Grady watching that, Tweeky, but he was watching it from the back of the endzone where he had been pushed by an o-lineman that probably weighed 70 pounds less than he did!

I don\'t want it to be said that I am ignoring the way Grady played this season. That fact is Grady played great, in my opinion, for the first month. He seemed to be on fire and have real passion for the game.

That was just for September, though. I don\'t think his stats were all that great in October and apparently neither was his attitude.

Therin lies the reason we cut him. FOR HIS ENTIRE CAREER, he\'s played great the 1st half of a season, balloons up and becomes a liability in the 2nd half.
Well guess what, its week 9 and he\'s up to 370-plus again. Anyone see a pattern here?

I think Haslett saw a significant drop-off coming and figured, \"why keep him around\", especially when he\'s influencing younger players.
