If you're a football fan, your favorite team may be the Redskins. Or the Giants. Maybe the Packers or 49ers. Perhaps the Bills. Possibly (you mensch, you) the Bengals.

At this point, you may be tempted to follow your fantasy team a lot more closely than your real team, figuring that a wild-card spot is but a distant hope, anything beyond that a Jennie Finch dream.

Time to give up? Not a chance. There are still seven games left, and just about anything can happen. These 10 teams tell the tale of great midseason turnarounds

Yeah, I know saintfan. You\'ve got to have some thick skin on here if you are a positive person. I just try to give the positive folks everywhere a little hope that it\'s ok to believe. It\'s ok not to give up. But, I do notice that even all the folks that wrote this team off a while back are talking playoff possibilities now. Go figure -- :P

DALLAS-9-7
NEW ORLEANS 9-7
SEATTLE 9-7
TAMPA BAY 9-7

If NO beats TB, and Dallas, we get in on tie-breakers.

Not to mention:

GREEN BAY 9-7 (easy schedule)
NY GIANTS 9-7 (they tend to finish strong)

I won\'t worry about SF and Washington. This one is going to go down to the wire, whether the Saints are in it until the end or not.

Everything seems to be lining up for the Saints. Here\'s how our cinderella story is unfolding.

1. Lose half of our defense at the beginning of the season.
2. Lose first 4 of 5 games.
3. Fan\'s start calling for Brooks and Haslett\'s head.
4. Beat a couple of nothing teams.
5. Get robbed out of the game with Carolina.
6 Beat the Super Bowl champs heading into the bye week with a great defensive effort.
7. Get most of our injuried players back.
8. Get new astro play turf. I think the old turf was what has been \"the curse\" for the Saints.
9. Get to beat up the falcons when we return from the bye week to have much confidence to make the stretch run.
10. Saints go on to win the Super Bowl and I spend weeks serving up the crow. -- :P

11. Billy wakes up in AB\'s arms, hung over and a little sore, goes home and finishes his franchise season on Madden 2004.

You know, I think you\'re right! There must have been a voodoo curse on that stuff. Come to think of it, Tulane has been disappointing too. You just gave me a reason to hope for the rest of the season. OK, not that I needed one, but it\'s nice to have one anyway. Thanks, Billy! ;)

Read it and chuckled. We\'re supposed to feel better b/c a 1971 Canadian league team started off 3-4 and still made the playoffs. Woo-hoo. Billy\'s optimistic after reading this - why? b/c in the last 60 years, ten teams have started almost as bad as we did and they still made the playoffs. That puts our odds at about 10 in a trillion. Now I feel better! LMAO.

Our conference is filled with mediocre teams and we\'re one of them. It\'s gotten to that stage where the team that can get a winning streak going can make a push right now. Even the conference leaders are very beatable and don\'t deserve the records they hold right now.
I\'ll be honest. I had pretty much come to believe we were out of the playoff hunt. The main reason we have a chance still isn\'t because we are suddenly all that good, but that other teams are not living up to their billing. Green Bay, Philly, the Giants, Tampa....all are looking like us right now and that has alot to do with our optimism. Minny is sinking as are the Seahawks. There are alot of marginal teams that can be dangerour right now....and you\'re right...it\'s anyones game now.

NY finishes with a very tough schedule. Not to mention losing shockey.
