We Need to stop Steven Jackson

I can vividly remember the game between these two teams last year, and whilst we struggled on a couple areas of the game - the one thing we couldn't do was stop Steven Jackson and get off the field.
Now i think everyone will agree that with the addition of Danny Clark and the higher level of play from our 2 DT's, that our Run D is better this year. However we can't shoot ourselves in the foot by letting Jackson get going, because that's what happened last year and our D suffered because of it.

Now i know this is not last year, this is a new team and a new season BUT i think we have to go with last years philosophy -

Get a real good lead early, either by turnovers or 3 and outs
Force the Rams to put the ball in Bradfords hands
Then let GW blitz the hell outta him and make him force some throws

If the Rams keep the game close, they will do it by churning the yardage out on the ground, so we need to take that away from them.

WHO DAAAAAAT!!!!!!!

I call that the "no s*&t" strategy. We don't take no s&*t from this upstart offense early and keep em throwing to these green recievers.

Keep in mind we were banged up badly, and had several players not even dress...
Sedrick Ellis
Jabari Greer
Darren Sharper
Lance Moore

And unfortunately one player did play...

We're healthy on D now and Steven isn't what he once was either. If we can keep him in check and watch out for that TE that looks like a Mack Truck then we should be OK. They have nothing at WR, no backup RB's and the QB is still only a rookie.

I am talking about the pi call. It really hurt us, but it was more a veteran taking advantage of a younger player than anything. And I see that confrontation as having come out the opposite of how you do.

It was a 2nd down play, and there were 12 minutes to go in regulation when that happened, and Gonzalez didn't catch another ball.

Looks like it shook up Gonzo more than Harper.

I'm not going to say something stupid like "agree to disagree", but I remember distinctly seeing Harper being very shaken up by Gonzalez.

Hopefully he doesn't have an issue with the Rams TE, but when a player loses his cool, it's always cause for concern.

True, but Harper was angry about the bad PI call, not by anything Gonzalez did. I've watched Harper since his Bama days, he doesn't get shaken up by other players.

Gonzalez drew that pi call, and that's what pissed Harper off. It's really the same thing.
