Get Well Roby

I'm being perfectly honest here, I was so damn frustrated that after Brees had turned the ball over, we go right back and fumble on a kickoff return. However I did not know the extent of why roby fumbled until I saw him lying there without movement.
Thoughts and prayers go out to mr roby, you are fearless on special teams and run full speed into on coming tacklers, you play the game how it's meant to be played - at 100 mph every play! Get well soon man!!

Praying for you Roby

breesfan27 12-12-2010 07:45 PM

I almost started crying when they were showing Roby just laying there, and all the players praying on the sidelines. I'm glad he's got movement in his hands and feet and I'm hoping he has a speedy recovery! We need you back, Courtney! Get well soon!

pherein 12-12-2010 07:49 PM

and he still tried to get up, and go after the ball. Roby your amazing

Agreed. Brees was praying.
Roby moved his hands and feet while on the field and that was good.

From the replayes it looked like someone in the pile sat on his head when they were going for the ball

RailBoss 12-13-2010 12:15 AM

That was a bone jarring hit and then he got piled on. Roby is a gamer! Yeah I have been thinking about him all night. Kind of put a damper on a pretty dominant victory.

CashAndFlash 12-13-2010 12:23 AM

I just saw Brees praying... I had no idea what that was about... I had stepped away from the Tv...man. I'm tearing up... I wonder if fans are allowed to go put flowers outside his room or something...

CashAndFlash 12-13-2010 12:25 AM

This is seriously tearing me apart... man down.. I don't know if I'll be able to sleep tonight.

damn.

CashAndFlash 12-13-2010 12:37 AM

I just tweeted sharper.... he was on his account a little while ago... hopefully we can get an update.

pherein 12-13-2010 12:46 AM

Yea, I didn't like the way the EMT on scene was constantly talking to him and touching him. We usually do that because a guy is losing consciousness. I was pretty worried after I saw that. Preying for you Roby.

skymike 12-13-2010 07:08 AM

I'm anxious to get the update this morning. Somebody please tell us what you know, when you get it.

I'll tell you what, I dont know what tv showed, but there was a rather emotional moment yesterday in the Dome. First after the fumble, and everyone was unpiling, we could see a player down. Now my view is from the Terrace. I dont know what you were seeing on tv, or in the lower levels.

I suspected it was Roby, but there was such a crowd around him, it took a minute to confirm. His legs were frighteningly still, stuck in the same position. It gave you a bad feeling, but then I looked over and saw the entire Rams team out on the field taking a knee, and I knew that this was bad. Then you see a guy on the field make a "T" gesture, which I guess is the cart's cue. Of course, we had the long delay, and the crowd was very respectfully quiet.

Well, as they were preparing to lift him, the crowd actually started chanting "Roby Roby Roby," and they made a big cheer for him as he was rolling off. The big screen showed him wiggling his fingers, and the crowd erupted.

Get better fast, Roby. We're all rooting for you.

The only update we've heard at the minute was from Coach Paytons press conference and he said that it is positive news that Roby was able to perform the "movements" that the EMT's asked him to do, both on the field and off. Roby is a baller, will update if i hear anything new.

ditto, i saw exactly the same thing. i was in section 113 behind them funky rams. unfortunately we had a few rams fans being very disrespectful following robys play. boy i wanted to sock him upside his jawbone with my cold nachos. BUT i felt a hell of a lot better when the ball was immediately intercepted on the next play and returned for a touchdown. all i kept repeatedly saying was "that was for roby!"

Coach used to say, "Get up - and walk it off". Let's just hope it's that simple.
