Saints only team with triple threat
http://www.nola.com/saints/t-p/index...3531251810.xml
TRIPLE THREAT: The Saints are the only team in the league with a top 10 passer, rusher and receiver. Quarterback Aaron Brooks ranks ninth in passer efficiency rating (85.7). Running back Deuce McAllister is fifth in rushing yards with 871. And wide receiver Joe Horn ranks 10th in receptions with 49. "They're outstanding, and they have been now for several years," Falcons coach Dan Reeves said. "Horn's a complete player. He's exciting. He loves to play the game. He's a guy that can ignite a football team just with his play. . . . They have so many weapons that, if they get everybody going, they're difficult to stop." The trio doesn't receive the notoriety of past threesomes such as Kurt Warner, Marshall Faulk and Isaac Bruce of the Rams or Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin of the Cowboys. But it can be argued the Saints' trio is the most productive and durable of any in the league. Horn has started 57 consecutive games. Brooks has started 46 consecutive games. McAllister has missed just one game in the past two seasons. "It's nice from a coaching standpoint because you can rely on players," Haslett said. "It's hard to formulate a game plan if you have a guy that you can't rely on day in and day out. These guys are there." |
