NFC PLAYOFFS

NFC
Seed Team Division Record
1 Atlanta (x) South 12-2-0
2 Chicago (y) North 10-4-0
3 Philadelphia East 10-4-0
4 St. Louis West 6-8-0
5 New Orleans South 10-4-0
6 N.Y. Giants East 9-5-0

We need to stay out of New York and host the wild-card in The Dome. Hope we don't have to visit Chicago again in the frozen Tundra.

Man..... I tell you what.... I would rather face the G-Men, or the Bears, than the Eagles.

I think the G-Men will take the Eagles the next time....
Remaining games: NFC
Falcons.....Saints, Panthers...1W,1L!
Bears.....Jet's, Packers.....1W,1L? <--Not going to change
Eagles... Cowgirls, Vikings.... 2W
Giants...Packers, Redskins....2W
Rams....49'rs , Seahawks..... Your guess is as good as mine.

Packers and Bucks still in hunt in the NFC.

As it looks right now... Rams, Bears, Falcons, Patriots, Parade.

I like our chances against any of these teams. We have never been out of a game all year. I'm more concerned about the easier foe in the WC round. Payton outsmarted himself in Chicago 07' when he took the ball out of Duece's hands. I think he'll get it right this time around. Hopefully, Atlanta is a repeat of next weeks victory. Once we start rolling we will be OK. The Pats are not last year's Monday night Pats. Maybe MM will be looking for some part-time work in February.

Agreed. If it does come down to a cold weather game, we need Ivory back there to handle the load. Payton should of learnt his lesson from the chicago game, so as long as Ivory is back there we will be fine.
We need to handle business, we need to stop michael turner, put the ball in ryans hands and let him throw us a couple pick 6's, o yeah and we need to get the refs off the falcons bench aswell.

right now we would play at St.L and then at ATL. I'll take that.

ok... I work too much, and I'm out of the loop now. help me to understand:

In the new playoff format in the new alignment, (new being relative to me, having more than 26 teams to me is "new.") -- in the new alignment,
tell me Im wrong here,

-- wild card teams have no home game now. and they dont play each other. they play the 3rd and 4th best division winners -- (see, they used to play each other in a true "wild card" game. In fact at one time we had three wild card teams. Two played each other, while the worst wild card team played the worst division winner, which had not earned a 1st round bye-- in the Wild Card round. (back when we had 3 divisions)

Old alignment: (3 wild cards)
Wild Card Round:
#1 and #2 bye / #3 vs worst WC / best WC hosts 2nd best WC

Now:
Wild Card Round:
#1 and #2 bye / best WC at #4 / worst WC at #3

we'd play at the Rams.

But we cant have any home playoff games this year.
I could be wrong.

Next, I will describe the classic four-way stop intersection.

A wild card team can host the championship game at home, if they are the highest remaining seed left in the playoffs. So if the Saints are #5, then they beat #4 on the road, wild card round. THe #6 wild card also has to beat the #3 on the road. Then the next week, let's say the Saints beat the #1 on the road, and the worst wild card also beats the #2 in their divisional round game. Then the saints would be #5, the other team would still be #6, so the Saints would host the championship game. That's the only way it possibly goes back to the Dome, I'm pretty sure of it.

You are missing a game... There are 4 rounds to the SB for a Wild Card Team.
