Im calling it
Carolina Beats ATL in a surprising close up battle where ATL tries to rest their starters and play down to Carolina and Carolina rises up and smack them in the mouth and walk out with a win and Saints Take care of Buc's to steal Atlanta's Lime light and send them packing with warm gear.
You read it here first. :bng: WHO DAT!!!!:bng: |
False. You obviously haven't watched the PCats this year.
|
No way they play to lose home field advantage. If they rest their starters it'll be when they have a solid lead in the 4th.
|
Like i said.. you heard it here first lol
|
It's not the injuries so much as the QB situation in Carolina. The Colts have a lot more players on IR but are still holding it together. Clausen would have to look like Manning or Brees just to keep it close. That's a tall order for someone with 2TD's and 8 picks.

Thanks wrath! Calling the bookie today to place the money on the Panthers. Whooohooo...

We have some delusional Saints fans ... NO WAY IN HELL do the kitties pull this upset. It ain't happening --- I don't care if ATL plays there worst and CAR plays there best --- it just isn't realistic. I can appreciate people saying "You heard it here first" so that if it were to happen they could come back and sound like a GENIUS, but it is NOT going to happen.
And when it doesn't happen -- Most people will quickly just forget this post ... I probably will as well, but let's be honest ... We're traveling to St. Louis or SEA next week. |

Well anything can happen. We only beat Carolina by 2 in the dome, and two weeks ago the Panthers beat Arizona, who kicked our friggin teeth in. I'd say they have a 1 in 5 shot. Keep it a conservative low scoring game, and hope ATL coughs it up a few times. I wouldn't mind Jon Beason knocking Matt the f*** out either. |

It's the NFL, anything can happen. Who picked the viqueens to beat the eaglets the other night with a rookie QB starting?
|
That call is against all realistic odds. But I'm not sure that it matters that very much.
Even from the #5 slot it looks like the Saints will have exactly one cold weather game, against the Chicago Bears. That should be an interesting matchup for a lot of reasons. Almost all are in comparison to the 2006 NFC Championship game: 1) The Bears are no longer a run first team. 2) The Saints can, and with Payton finally learning, will run the ball no matter what. And with PT23 and Ivory available, along with the occasional Bush and possibly Jones carry, will have the ability to pull it off. 3) This is not Fred Thomas in the defensive backfield. Porter, Grier, Harper, Jenkins, Sharper, Robinson, and even Torrence are probably the most formidable defensive backfield in the NFC playoffs. 4) The Bears O-line can be had. I can see another Giants type game for the Saints front 7, especially with the defensive backfield just discussed. Given all of these points, the Saints going to Chicago and laying it on the Bears is a pretty good bet. Now let's look at the other side of the equation. Who do you think is the best team out of Atlanta, Philly, and most likely Green Bay? Right now, I'd take the Packers. They won't be the least bit bothered going into Philly and have a superior defense and offense that can score. They've already seen the Falcons and won't make the same mistakes. So I can definitely see them coming out of that group. Note that neither Seattle nor St. Louis can compete with any of the other 5 teams that are in. No more discussion necessary. Where does that leave us? My bold prediction: Packers vs. Saints in the Superdome for the NFC championship! SFIAH |
Any given Sunday...

One thing we did by beating Atl at home is make them want to come out and show they are still the team to beat. Unfortunate news for Carolina. I hope John Fox throws everything they have at ATL, if they run the ball well and keep their Quarterback from having to make a play, Atl has a off day (post Saint hangover), maybe we get lucky. We lost our last three going into the playoffs last year, hopefully Atl loses their last two. Stranger things have happened.

IMO, the best hope Saints fans have for a Carolina win is this: Atlanta plays starters and go into halftime with a 14-3 or 17-3 point lead and decide to rest starters in 2nd half.
Carolina continues to play their starters and put together a couple scoring drives and manage to get a turnover and win 17-14 or 20-17. |
Carolina could win but the Falcons will be teed off since they lost to us and know they should've lost the first time.
|
Many forget we were an unbeatable 12-3 team THIS TIME last year after losing to a lousy Dallas team we laid another egg against the 2-13 BUC'S..
12-3 Atlanta meets a 2-13 Carolina this Sunday, can they pull a 2009 end of the season Buc's on em?? YOU DAMN RIGHT! will they? who knows. Im going to believe.. All we gotta do is beat Buc's in my opinion, let Carolina handle theirs. |

I have no issue with you believing SW. Because +ve thoughts can become self-fulfilling.
And the Kittys have beaten 2 teams somehow this year. And whilst the 14.5 spread looks a little wide to me, I cannot see the FailClowns dropping that far. |
We all know, any team in the NFL can beat any team on any given Sunday or Monday or Tuesday as evidenced by Vick's beat down. Here's to Fox blowing them all out of the water on Sunday!! His one last song....

We might just get lucky. Carolina spanks the Failclowns, Green Bay gives it to Chicago hard and fast, we shred the Suckaneers and guess who's sitting atop the NFC?? That's right!! :bng: |
I agree with Srgt. and you all are making me nervous.
I don't want to make predictions or jinx anything. All I do know is that I want and hope the Saints to win.:bng: |
I don't think the Vikings win was THAT surprising...you take away Childress and rickety old gunslinger Favre, and if the Vikings basically take a page from George Constanza, and do everything the exact opposite of what they have been doing all year, then they are a pretty good team! Maybe if the Panthers do the opposite of what they normally do, it could work for them. I hope Fox gets mad about being fired, and kinda goes loco on Sunday, I hope he pulls a "Cleveland Browns" on the Falcons -- trick plays, fake punts, fumblerooskys, Wildcat, stuff that you would normally never see him do. If they do that, they could surprise people. If they just come out and be the same lackadaisical boring team they've been all year, it will be a blowout.
I am just glad for the little "x" next to the Saints that means they've clinched a playoff spot. |

Had i known the Saints were actually going to look at the scoreboards and just pocket their post-season play-calling this thread wouldn't exist..
Saints lied, they said they weren't going to look at the scoreboard, still Atlanta was winning so it didn't matter.. Good game Buc's.. and Drew turning it over is disappointing.. I wish they would have just put Chase D in earlier, i saw no reason Drew should have been out there as long as he was. |
Spare a thought for the Panthers head coach! How must he have felt, knowing this would be his last game BEFORE the game kicked off!!!!!!
