I've noticed the sports media picking up on this topic, but they only mentioned the Saints as being victims of the current seeding.

Have they not bothered to look at the other 3 wildcard games?

It is not just a fluke affecting the Saints - it could be said to be affecting all 4 wildcard games...

I just dont think of us as victims, Ark. We should have taken care of business. Hows the weather in AR?

I'll repeat what I posted in another thread. I really don't have a problem with division winners hosting a game. I have a problem with wildcards not having the opportunity to be reseeded after winning a playoff game or two.

Consider the 11-5 Saints this year with the second best conference record. No problem with them playing in Seattle. No problem with them playing on the road against a bye team. But if they win those two games, they should host a conference championship against everyone except the Falcons. Those two playoff wins should give them the opportunity to reseed against all comers.

That would keep everyone in the game for the regular season because even if you are a wildcard, if you have a great record, you have a realistic chance to host the championship game should you get that far.

That would balance out the division thing, because then a better record would have meaning if you get far enough to earn it.

Now that I can agree with... The team with the best record host the NFC game. Re-seed after the playoff round with the best record hosting the NFC game.

Well if it is Saints against Packers in NFC Championship it will be in the dome, so there is still hope of a home game.

I finally saw where someone pointed out that it is not just the Saints that are the ones making the seeding look flawed. Not much a fan of AS - he tends to almost always go agains us, but here it is...



On to this week's 10 spot:

1. Don't blame Seattle: Criticism showered on Seattle for playing host to a wild-card game Saturday despite becoming the first NFL team to make the playoffs with a 7-9 record should be shared. Never has the NFL playoff seeding system looked so flawed. There will not be any postseason matchups this weekend in which the home team has a better record than the road team. The 11-5 Jets play at the 10-6 Colts, the 12-4 Ravens play at the 10-6 Chiefs, the 11-5 Saints will play at the 7-9 Seahawks and the 10-6 Packers will play at the 10-6 Eagles. If the NFL ever needed an incentive to re-evaluate its playoff seeding system, this would be it.

Saints are not the victims here. No one is because everyone complied with the rules.

However I have sympathy for Oakland with their divisional 6-0 record and I have sympathy for for Giants / Tampa with their 8-4 conference record.
