Playoffs
Anyone have a problem with the 7-9 Seahawks:
a. Hosting a playoff game, or, b. Being in the playoffs? |
Hey,
Thats the system we have played with for years now. It is what it is. Be the best team in your division and you're in and you get to host. I don't have a problem with it. |
|
True. But do you think there should be a minimum standard, such as having a winning record, to get into the playoffs?
|
If it comes down to a division leader at 7-9, and a team in 2nd place in our division, the record of the team should decide where the game is played.
Thats the only problem i have, we should be able to play at home, because we have the better record. |
No and No

I guess I don't have a huge problem with it, because everyone knew the rules going in. And after all this did help the Chargers beat the Colts a couple years ago. :)
Maybe they should change it so that the winner of a division does get a playoff spot but they have to travel to the WC team if the WC team has a superior record. |

Win your division and you get to play at least one playoff game at home. What is so difficult to understand, or so ethically/morally wrong about that. If we had handled our business earlier and won our division, instead of fumbling on 4th down and throwing multiple lamebrained interceptions, or giving up huge plays on special teams, then we would be the team at home right now and some other team would be on the road to us. But we didn't... So what.
|
Sorry can't seem to control this.
|
Something just seems wrong about a 10-6 team being home and a 7-9 team being in the playoffs.
Just sayin'. |
As per the other thread.
Raiders 6-0 against their division = no playoff game. Their 100% divisional record was not sufficient to represent their division. On a lesser note: Giants won 66% of their conference games but cannot compete for the conference championship. Just saying. I have no issue with Seattle or any other "divisional" winner. |
7-9 may never happen again. but if it happened to us they would change the rule.
|
I swear, I always thought that rant was for the Saints. It's so damn funny though, I kinda wish it was.

Im not a big fan of negative, in fact Im all about positive, but Mora was the master of negative motivation. Nobody else should try to do it this way. "Woulda Coulda Shouda" was one of the greatest post-game speeches ever, and it sparked an angry assault on the Falcons, Rams and 49ers! that I'll never forget. But let me tell you this, Beastie. "You dont know what we're doing. You dont watch the game film. You dont go thru the practices. You dont know. You think you know, but you dont know. and you never will." just kidding. |
