Seattle coach Pete Carroll isn't ready to name a starting QB against the New Orleans Saints
When the New Orleans Saints played the Seattle Seahawks at the Superdome in November, they came out with a convincing 34-19 win.
But a highlight for Seattle was a good performance from quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, who was 32-of-44 for 366 yards and a touchdown. Hasselbeck didn't play last week against the St. Louis Rams in the 16-6 win that propelled the Seahawks to the playoffs because he had suffered a hip injury in a Week 16 game against Tampa Bay after scoring a touchdown in the first quarter. So, when the Saints meet Seattle at Qwest Field in the opening round of the NFC playoffs, the question is, will Hasselbeck be back? "We've got to figure it out and make sure everybody's OK," said Seahawks Coach Pete Carroll. "We'll find out where we are in the next day or so and determine that. Charlie (Whitehurst) got banged around a little bit himself in his failure to slide effectively. He took a couple shots, so we'll see how our guys are. Right now it looks like we'll split reps with those guys at practice tomorrow and we'll just find out where we are and we'll figure it out as we go through the week." Carroll said Hasselbeck would definitely practice on Tuesday. Seattle coach Pete Carroll isn't ready to name a starting QB against the New Orleans Saints | NOLA.com |
after watching Josh Freeman torch us, I dont know who we can stop.
Who was that JoeSchmoe who QB'ed the Cardinals? He beat us. |
Have to have faith that our defense will take control and play like they are the reigning Super Bowl champs. I'd like to think that Josh Freeman didn't torch us, but that we played down our skills so as to save them for the playoffs. That's what I like to think.... However, we are in the playoffs and I'm believing we are going for a Two Dat!

Don't underestimate Freeman. He's not your average everyday hack. That kid can play. IMO he's the second best QB in the NFC South with no apologies to Matt (I'm a hack) Ryan.

One thing's for sure...no matter who it is, the Seahawks are gonna milk this melodrama all the way until the opening kickoff. Just watch.
|
Let the games begin, nobody on either side will know the real deal until kickoff.

If Whitehurst was a Rookie, maybe. I really don't think it matters

Freeman will be very scary next season, he's in his 2nd year going on 3rd year as a QB and has flipped his team from a 3-13 season to a 10-6 team in only one season..
That is something of a miracle for such a young team and a young QB and a practically new HC. Not to mention he was was coached up for a day or so by Drew Brees. they are taking him very seriously the dude can be very dangerous because he's tall, big, strong, fast, and pretty accurate, get him some good receivers and and keep that running game going and they are easily heading into the playoffs next season. |

I agree. He just needs not to lose his head. |
