My buddy told me the other day (while watching us lose to Tampon by the bay) .. "Bro, you are one of the most pessimistic fans I've ever been around"
Personally, I consider myself a realist, but I can see how others would interpret that as being "negative/pessimistic" ... I have to say though that I think our luck this year is about to run out. I'm with SKYMIKE on this one ... We're pretty banged up right now and Brees hasn't looked like the Brees we all know and love all year long. You can throw stats at me all day long, but the fact is --- if you've watched EVERY SINGLE DOWN this year (and I have ... Even traveled TO SFO and PHX) you might come to the same conclusion that I have --- I can't put my finger on it, but something isn't right/the same. I can definitely see us losing this weekend ... Playing at SEATTLE is going to be A LOT tougher than most of us as fans are probably willing to let on. If you aren't somewhat concerned about this game (and just saying things like "they're 7-9" "they don't deserve to be in the playoffs" etc, etc) then I won't change your mind (nor will anyone else), but the fact is --- Last year was SPECIAL and while I want this year to be as special ... It's not shaping up like it will be. Okay, let the "you're not a real fan" ... "your a bandwagon fan" begin ... I'll laugh since I've been a fan longer than most of you have been around, but I'll understand the backlash of someone questioning our beloved Saints. |
Dude are you really asking if we are going to watch the game? What do you think man? Btw, I'd rather Sexyback play than your boy the ole lumber jack. That mustache is bringing him good luck.

There is a reason so few teams repeat as SB Champs. It apparently is very difficult. The team is certainly beat up, have their work cut out for them, and will likely lose if they do not focus on the game and respect what the Seahawks can do.
However I just don't see how that equates to a defending SB champ that has a top 7 defense (in pts) and a top 11 offense (pts) and is returning to the playoffs to defend their title as being "one of the worst 11-5 teams ever". That just does not add up. |

Also, it's not the first time an NFL team went to the playoffs sub-.500. There were several teams that did it in the 1982 strike season. Finally, we had a winning record in '78, '79, '86, '90, and '01 but didn't qualify for the playoffs, so I guess this evens it out a little. |

That is a lot of feedback thanks. Yeah I remember Rocky Bernard but he plays for the Giants now. Maybe one of his most memorable plays was squashing Alex Smith like a grape in San Francisco a few years ago: http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/...E97dY/610x.jpg Our weaknesses are our O-line, and by extension our running game. We lost WR Deon Butler for the season a few weeks ago, but Brandon Stokely may be back from a concussion this week. Mike Williams has been a welcome addition and seems to be fully healthy again. Ben Obamanu is having a bit of a break out season after waiting in the background on the practice squad and special teams for many years. He is a good yac'er, and can break a big one any time. I expect Brees to have a big day against our secondary, but OTOH guys like Trufant, Babineaux, and Thomas could get a pick-6 if presented the opportunity. Our run defense has been bad since we lost a big dude named Red Bryant in the Raiders game earlier this year. Will be interesting to see how Julius Jones handels his return to Qwest Field. |
Sup HawksFan, I actually don't hate you guys. Your one of the other NFC teams I'll usually root for, but not this weekend. I was pulling hard for the Seahawks when they went to the SB a few years back. I've been to Seattle, it's beautiful up there. Well, here's to a good game:drink:.......and a Saints victory!

Good LORD, you sound like a mix of Vince Dooley, Larry Munsen, and Lou Holtz ! |
Jeez. Just an hour ago I was on a cloud; Upgraded from 25- yard line low to 49.5 yard line LOWER... Cloud 9 I tell you...
Then I come here and get sniped from the cloud with the injury report! I was at Seattle last time we played there and we won, BUT their fans were BRUTAL. I wouldn't even let my wife buy sweatshirts because they were beating up anyone who yelled "Who Dat!". I'm feeling pretty lonely already with that NOLA article about fans staying in NOLA, and my 50-yard line seats better come with security detail because my sign will read, "QUIET PLEASE! REPEAT IN PROGRESS!" That Qwest Field is the loudest outdoor stadium in the country. That whole 12th man deal is FOR REAL! Got two seats for sale: face value. Home 25. Club Level! ALASKA |

One day, I saw Matt Hasselbeck in the airport in Orlando. Nobody else recognized him so I asked for a picture with him. This was the week before the Cardinals/Steelers Superbowl so I asked him which team he hoped would win. I wanted to know especially because the Cardinals are in the same division as the Seahawks and because every fan of the NFL that's not a Steelers fan knows that the Seahawks were jobbed in their Superbowl vs the Steelers. His response was "Cardinals. One hundred percent." I really liked the guy and have been secretely rooting for him. Don't tell my brothers. |
