Joique Bell - Preseason Game Highlights, Unfortuntaley

Has some decent skills, but whole different thing against starters and in the playoffs, but even so for coming out of Div. 2, pretty good skills. I also like on the one pass play is the nice block he made.

So who knows after he learns the system a bit?

dizzle88 01-06-2011 07:02 AM

He looks like he understands blocking schemes as an RB, from those clips he was taking what the defense gave him and he hurries to get through the line of scrimmage.
I agree if he gets chance to learn our system, the guy could contribute well, just might be a little too late now for any contribution in the Playoffs.

Very true, but maybe he is replacing someone we r not resigning? be nice if he could offer something this year, but yeah it is late in the year!

The fact that he gets any positive yards behind Buffalo's line is good enough for me.

lmao- love it

Doesn't matter how well he runs, it only matters if he knows how to pick up the blitz and run a screen. He has no value if he can't because the defense will know what play we're running, no pun intended.

Euphoria 01-06-2011 08:53 AM

He does the airplane after a TD you got to love that.

If you watch the one play, granted it is one play, but he does a nice job of it

You're absolutely right he cannot just run

foreverfan 01-06-2011 09:27 AM

Surprised Buffalo cut their whole offense.

Runs hard like Mike Bell...something we need badly...he'll be a good goal line back and/or 4th and 1 hard hitter...he'll get time against the Bears

This boy looks good - very good. Good speed on the edge; he goes forward and gets what he can. I like what I saw in those clips, though just a glimpse. How long it takes for him to learn the sets is anybody's guess. If not this post season, he looks like a good pick up going into next year.

i was planning on watching the video and hating on him but i agree he does look pretty good. the fumble doent look great but the rest of the video does. impressive

saintfan 01-06-2011 03:33 PM

Seems to have decent vision - if we can run block for him at all he could be a nice add.

st thomas 01-06-2011 04:01 PM

if he hangs here it will be a gluten of rbs to sort out in 2011. he shows he has speed to the edge which is nice, and some eyes for a hole.

B_Dub_Saint 01-06-2011 10:44 PM

those vids of bell were pretty good!

WW_Who_Dat 01-07-2011 02:05 AM

He looks like a big 220 lbs and can bring it all to point of attack ... I like what has been shown so far lets hope he can get ready and contribute soon ... :bng:

TheOak 01-07-2011 03:50 AM

At the "very least"..... He is enough of a back to keep a defense honest... And that in itself can be a huge thing for Drew...

cajun911 01-07-2011 06:51 AM

Who knows, he could be another buried treasure that the Saints dig up. They have a pretty good eye for that.

saintsfan1976 01-07-2011 08:41 AM

Man I hope we draft/sign a true bruiser RB next year...

I disagree. If you remember, it was three or four games before Ivory would go in on anything but a run. If he was back there it was usually in the 'I' and everyone including my wife knew he was getting the ball and that it would be a run.

All that didn't matter b/c he ran like a man, got yards and balanced our attack. We have Bush (and hopefully Jones) for blocking, screens etc...
if this kid can just help us grind out clock than he is more than worth it.
