Cleaning out my locker
It's been a fun season, Who Dats. Very much didn't end like we wanted. Now we have the unwelcome distinction of losing to the only losing record playoff team in history But not even that can put a stain on last season, hands down one of the top five teams in NFL history. Looking forward to next season. As little as he gets hit, Brees has at least 6 more years in him. Our receivers are young, our running backs are young, a few key guys on the defense are young. We'll be back for at least two more Lombardis before a "9" is hanging from the rafters.
Off season goals: draft on the defensive side. Get a better scheme for tackling and blocking on screens. Resign Sharper, Goodwin, Hargrove, Moore, and Nicks. Extend Shockey and Brees. Make reasonable offers to Ayodale, Hartley, Dunbar, and Young. And on a selfish note, I'd like to see fellow Hokie Macho Harris in camp. If he doesn't make the cut, he doesn't make, but I think we should at least give him a look. He can play corner, safety, wide receiver, and punt returner. So even if he's not starting, that's four position back-ups in case of injury in one roster spot. 2011 should be fun. IF we can take care of biz and get homefield in the playoffs, looks like our only cold weather game next year will potentially be Green Bay (fingers crossed that's a September game). Potentially hard games: Bears and Colts, both at home. Failclowns have to get by Philly, Green Bay, Indy, and Chicago (fingers crossed that's a December game). See ya'll at the combine. |
