Cleaning out my locker
It's been a fun season, Who Dats. Very much didn't end like we wanted. Now we have the unwelcome distinction of losing to the only losing record playoff team in history:( But not even that can put a stain on last season, hands down one of the top five teams in NFL history. Looking forward to next season. As little as he gets hit, Brees has at least 6 more years in him. Our receivers are young, our running backs are young, a few key guys on the defense are young. We'll be back for at least two more Lombardis before a "9" is hanging from the rafters.
Off season goals: draft on the defensive side. Get a better scheme for tackling and blocking on screens. Resign Sharper, Goodwin, Hargrove, Moore, and Nicks. Extend Shockey and Brees. Make reasonable offers to Ayodale, Hartley, Dunbar, and Young. And on a selfish note, I'd like to see fellow Hokie Macho Harris in camp. If he doesn't make the cut, he doesn't make, but I think we should at least give him a look. He can play corner, safety, wide receiver, and punt returner. So even if he's not starting, that's four position back-ups in case of injury in one roster spot. 2011 should be fun. IF we can take care of biz and get homefield in the playoffs, looks like our only cold weather game next year will potentially be Green Bay (fingers crossed that's a September game). Potentially hard games: Bears and Colts, both at home. Failclowns have to get by Philly, Green Bay, Indy, and Chicago (fingers crossed that's a December game). See ya'll at the combine. |
I won't make the combine but I'll see you at camp....I like what you had to say. Rep points.

Didn't Macho come in this past training camp?
|
OLB we so have to upgrade.
RB's and a PR also are going to be bigger needs in the draft. |
A few games they struggled and one game, they failed to show up but all in all they did a good job.

Bring back Larry Beavers as the punt returner.
Put Beavers and roby as the two kick returners, pick your poison. Agreed on most of the points, Sharper is not really the same as 2009, Jenkins seems to be miles ahead of him now (strange how things turn out) Ayodele's play developed by leaps and bounds from 2009 to 2010, i like what the guy can do. Lance Moore needs to be given an extension, no more one year tenders, the guy is too good to lose. As i said, larry beavers for punt returner!! |
I'd say Sharper has seen his last days. Slooooow and no lateral movement for a long-in-the-tooth player.
|
We should let Devery go if we're dumping a wideout.

Lance Moore is easily the most consistent guy we have. |

Not sure about Meachum or AA but having another reliable long range threat would be nice. |
I am not a Henderson fan. Moore has really stepped up and if Colston holds on to more balls next season I think we are looking good with Meach and maybe AA but another long threat WR would be nice. RB's of the north south, downhill variety. Obviously there are some defensive needs at LB and DB's.

We need a 2 RB; SLB and FS/SS....Maybe a reliable Corner that can step in just in case of a injury
