Philadelphia Eagles receive OK to interview New Orleans Saints assistant Dennis Allen
The New Orleans Saints have given permission to the Philadelphia Eagles to interview secondary coach Dennis Allen. The Eagles are in the market for a defensive coordinator after firing Sean McDermott last week.
Jay Glazer of Fox Sports first reported the news Wednesday night. Allen just finished his fifth season with the Saints, his third as secondary coach. The Saints' defense finished the regular season with the fourth-ranked defense in the NFL. He served as the team's assistant defensive line coach from 2006-07. Prior to that he was on the staff of the Atlanta Falcons for four seasons. The Texas native graduated from Texas A&M and served on the Aggies' staff as a graduate assistant before taking a job at Tulsa.
