Good article about potential lockout - Interview with Stinchcomb
By: Brian Allee-Walsh, NOC Saints Beat
NEW ORLEANS – The fur and the rhetoric are just beginning to fly between NFL owners/league management and the NFL Players Association. In other words, the two sides have only begun to fight. In a sense, the first salvo was fired Sunday by NFLPA Executive Director DeMaurice Smith, who used the phrase “we’re at war’’ to describe the current labor negotiations. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell quickly refuted Smith’s incredulously insensitive analogy, saying: "This is not anywhere near a war. This is a business dispute that we've got to get resolved." Then, New York Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie interjected his two cents. "You got our head union rep acting like an a-hole," he told the New York Daily News. "They got their guys acting like a-holes. So they just need to get their s**t together and just get it done." To which I said “Amen’’ and sought the level-headed perspective of veteran New Orleans Saints right tackle and player rep Jon Stinchomb. Full interview below. Saints union rep Stinchcomb sees hope for 2011 NFL season Good read regardless which side of the fence you are on. Alot of good points by Stinchcomb. Still focused on the ring. |
