He still has to pay Louisiana Income Tax due his employer being located in Louisiana.

I doubt he's leaving the Saints anytime soon. Maybe when the Saints championship window closes he leaves for a front office job in Dallas, but the Saints window is a long way from being over,

New Orleans Saints Football in Metairie, LA is a private company categorized under Football Clubs. Our records show it was established in 1985 and incorporated in Texas. Current estimates show this company has an annual revenue of $20 to 50 million and employs a staff of approximately 100 to 249. I would think a loop-hole most likely appears if the corporation you work for is incorporated Texas and your principal residence is Texas. It has been several years since I studied tax law, but there is probably a very defensible precedent. |

He also still owns a home in La. I'm not sure about Dallas but here in Houston the property taxes are high. At the end of the day he's not saving any money just creating more expense, especially with flying back and forth. The only thing I can imagine going through his head is that he's positioning himself for the Cowboys position. I think he knows Garrett will have limited success and the job will be his for the taking and a huge salary increase.

The property taxes in Texas is higher than Louisiana so actually with the combined taxes it will cost him more of his salary to live in Texas. But it doesn't bother me that he wants to move back to the Dallas area. His family gave Louisana a shot but I guess his wife is more high maintenance than what Mandeville could offer. That golfing community in Dallas is pretty swanky.

Just curious, how much of an increase will his property taxes be, and how much of a decrease will he receive in not paying State taxes?

Depending on the school district he's in. School district tax is the highest tax on the property tax. Basically it's about 2% of the value of your house. At least it is for us.
