New Orleans Saints safety Malcolm Jenkins recovering well

New Orleans Saints safety Malcolm Jenkins had to shut off his phone during his team's 41-36 playoff defeat at Seattle last month. It was bad enough that Jenkins had to watch from home because of a dislocated kneecap he suffered in the regular-season finale against Tampa Bay. But he felt worse as he saw his teammates in the defensive backfield struggle through their shakiest performance of the past two seasons.

DAVID GRUNFELD / THE TIMES-PICAYUNE New Orleans Saints Malcolm Jenkins is introduced to the students at Madisonville Elementary School Thursday February 10, 2011. Madisonville Elementary, which increased its milk consumption by 139 percent, was the overall winner of the Moo Dat contest, taking the grand prize of $5,000, a pep rally with Gumbo, the Saints mascot, and some Saintsations. During a milk-drinking campaign across Southeast Louisiana, consumption of milk increased 41 percent in St. Tammany Parish. With help from the New Orleans Saints, the National Football League, Brown's Dairy and the Southeast United Dairy Association, the contest came generated great results, as every public school across the parish showed an increase. The students drank over 30,000 cartons.

Malcolm Jenkins is one players we will definitely need going forward.

Darren Sharper is probably finished in Black and Gold. And, Malcolm can play CB also if needed. Our staff likes players who are versatile (can play more than one position WELL).

I'm starting to love Jenkins as a whole. He's clearly a remarkable developing talent, and he seems to be a solid person off the field. He's quickly earning that first round spot and his years with us will hopefully be many.

Malcolm Jenkins is an absolute stud and is going to be a building block for this secondary. He's a perennial Pro Bowl kinda guy.

One thing I did find interesting in that story, near the bottom, is that he did admit that the team's attitude on repeating was like "Well, let's show up and play and hopefully we can win another one."

Malcolm Jenkins rules. I just hope he is healthy this coming season (and postseason!)

Btw, here is my prediction for Super Bowl XLVI: Saints 38, Ravens 17.

Yeah Jenkins has become very consistent. As far as Sharper goes I think he lost a step from the surgery and at his age not sure if he will get it back.
