Shaun Rogers to visit Saints...
|
Get it done loomis.
|
That's what I been waiting to here. Wine and dine his big butt and make sure he don't leave New Orleans for Houston. We need a big guy in the middle so that can free up some space for our ends. Now my question is if he sign with the Saints in the draft do get a linebacker or do we trade our draft pick for more picks.
|
YES! I wanted to trade for this guy when he was leaving Detroit. Cleveland got him for little more than a second round pick. It could have been us.

SIGN HIM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another big body on the market.
Bills released DT Marcus Stroud. The move was not unexpected. The Stroud trade three years ago was a bad idea and the subsequent $20.5 million extension was even more ill-conceived. Stroud was due $4.5 million in 2011 on the heels of two straight years of poor run defense. The 32-year-old is not an ideal fit in the Bills' 3-4 scheme, and the team wanted to open up playing time for promising second-year end Alex Carrington. Expect Stroud to draw a look from 4-3 teams this offseason. Source: Pro Football Talk on Twitter Feb 16, 11:51:00 AM I find both of these guys are very interesting options. Both are at stages in their careers where they should understand they are not going to be 3 down guys... nor should they be expecting large multimillion dollar contracts. Neither of these guys have rings and I'm sure winning one now before their career is up should take prescendant over an extra million or so dollars. Throw a 1-2 mil with some incentives and see who bites... we need a big body next to Ellis. |
love the idea. the is beastly in madden
|
this totally has to be some GW behind this visit.
|
Are we going to pay him in Hamburgers. Is his nickname Big Baby. ??? Ok Big him in for a look.
|
Former Longhorn :-)
|
Hey, Big Boy!
Dis here is Jambalaya, and dis is Gumbeaux, and dis, dis cher' is Étouffée... And we got the most beautiful, sensual women we call Creole... We have the best SuperBowl Celebration in place for years called Mardi Gras! What's not to like 'bout New Orleans? |
Let's bring in Stoud and Rogers, think of the pressure this defense would put on QBs , I'd be happy with either as long as it improves the team

Me likes. :)

Not that Yahoo comments are a great forum of thought and intellect, but some of those Cleveland fans did not have kind things to say about Rogers. In one place, you might hear, "Guy is great," in others you hear, "Guy is worthless." But I guess you can say that about anybody. Maybe he really is fat and lazy, but maybe he really is talented and great-- Thats why you need coaches. |
Look we need to sign defensive tackles, ends before the draft...
Rodgers in the right shape and the right attitude would be a force and allow Ellis to take advantage of 1:1 blocking; but he is about to be 32 yrs and his work ethic and attitude are big flags... It'll have to be incentive laden contract with minimal guarantees; he won't like that... But he has until 4 March to do something or his options to sign will be based on what happens after the new CBA which can go any of a number of ways... Marcus Stroud, also aging is another possibility... But the Saints had John Henderson, similiar situtation, yet released him to stay young on the defensive line... Be curious to see what, if any, kind of workout went down for Rodgers and what the interview was like... |
The New Orleans Saints wrapped up their visit with free agent defensive tackle Shaun Rogers. Rogers did not sign a contract, but Saints General Manager Mickey Loomis said the visit went well.
http://media.nola.com/saints_impact/...5718-small.jpg Shaun Rogers "Good visit," said Loomis, who described it as "fact finding for both sides at this point." Rogers, a three-time Pro Bowler who turns 32 next month, has also visited the Washington Redskins and Kansas City Chiefs since he was released last week by the Cleveland Browns. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Rogers does not have any other visits scheduled for now. Rogers is free to sign with any team he wants up until March 4, since he was released before the end of the current league year. But after that date, he will be in the same boat as every other potential free agent, who won't be allowed to sign new deals until a new collective bargaining agreement is reached between the NFL's owners and players. |
I like what I'm hearing here guys
1. "Get help for Sedrick" 2. "Get a speedy edge-rusher" I've been saying all along... |
If we don't get Shaun Rogers, we should seriously consider drafting Mount Cody....oh, wait.
