They couldn't get away with this today. I remember being 3-5 and my parents laughing at this show.

Edit- I hesitated at posting this yesterday, but after getting some advice from a friend that I trust very much, here goes... It was a sad day when they took that show off the air. I don't want to get into a big racial thing, but to me it was just a funny show...real funny. I can see the logic behind removing it, but shouldn't they have taken Andy Griffith off the air because Barney or Gomer, or Otis, or Goober made white people look bad...or even All in the Family because how bad Archie made them look. To me the principle is the same. I mean...I really don't want this to spin out of control but it is something that I never really could understand...and I totally miss that show. I don't consider my self a racist, just a person who appreciates good comedy, and that was some of the best. If anything, it makes the people in that show look genius for writing, producing, and acting for such a funny show...just like the previous shows mentioned. |
