Ok, so it was a joke... Still, even though I hate that Drew is being demonized for fighting for what he believes in, you have to admit, this just about sums it up. Decently amusing.

The game would still come out even if no season. All it needs is the drafted players. I bet it would sell more than any other Madden game for the novelty of no season and fans trying anything to get their fix. I stopped playing after college but I'd buy it.

That's great. Too bad I don't play Madden games.

They need to make a Madden NFL owner version. You could bench players getting close to hitting bonus earmarks, raise ticket prices, fight the city for a new stadium, design your box suite, so many scenarios....

They could release it as a compliment to the regular Madden, and call it NFL Tycoon, or The Sims: NFL Owners Edition. Sounds like a solid idea.

I buy Madden just about every year, 2011 & 2012 are the only 2 years I have and will not trade in...

Then they could add special player features
that freeze the screen until you pay an astronomical salary, which causes the need for higher tix prices, luxury suites, etc. (An additional feature would allow you to guide your players thru a maze infested with jewelry, cars, ridiculous houses, and ho's -- to the highest level, where your player could possibly use some of that salary for actual investment/retirement)
If you play with Adrian Peterson, his character would just stop now and then, because he likens his situation to "slavery."

Funny you mention that about writers. I read an article earlier today on the website of my old university's campus newspaper. Someone thought it would be a bright idea to paint a lot of obscenities, offensive symbols, and racial slurs on cars throughout the campus. Here's a quote from the article:

"These are the first racial and anti-semantic discriminations visually displayed in a widespread fashion."

Apparently, the culprit was racist and didn't care for the study of meanings.
