Deja Vu

I wanted Clay Matthews, Saints took Jenkins...

I was so pissed...

Then Jenkins showed glimpses that he could ball...

Then Clay Matthews won a Super Bowl...

This year my man crush was on Muhammad Wilkerson...

I hate being wrong, but I wanna be wrong; but I'm feeling Deja Vu...

I hate the Jets who have drafted Wilkerson...

The scene with Charlie Brown, flying through the air, after Lucy pulls the ball away...That's how I'm feeling right now...

If Mark Ingram busts, I'm gonna personally punk Mikey Loomis...

To the FBI guys, chill.

Ingram's too good to bust. He'll get worked into the scheme a little more each game. I'll guess he'll have 6-800 yards this season, unless he goes on a tear. That said, I'd love for us to have a 1000+ yard back again, and Ingram is our horse.

I feel ya...

And the potential offense is there; I know...

But I've got da Deja Vu bad on this one...

Casey?

Danno 04-29-2011 07:13 AM

Barring some sort of Ki-Jana Carteresque career ending injury, I just can't see how this kid busts at all.

He's got all the measurables, obviously has the production, is an extremely hard worker, and a high character team leader.

I think best case he's Edgerrin James/Marshal Faulk/Priest Homes type

I think worst case he's gonna be Dalton Hilliard.

Another case of Deja Vu has to be for the Falcons; think Julio is gonna being wearing a wedding dress with Mike Smith?

jeanpierre 04-30-2011 01:04 PM

Muhammad Wilkerson went to the Jets...

Quinton Carter went to the Broncos...

Casey Matthews went to the Eagles...

Arrggghhh!

We got Big Sed and Baby Shaun. We okay.

I saw Casey went in the fourth ... Wilson might be better though!

Just don't understand going for the corner when a better safety/defensive back was there in Quinton Carter...

jeanpierre 05-01-2011 09:59 PM

Like Wilson's size; had hoped Mason Foster would make it to us...

Still disappointed in drafting Another cornerback when we could have had Quinton Carter out of OU who could play now at either the nickel or dime and transitioned to Safety with Jenkins...

It's not that I don't like Ingram; I just don't believe you get enough shelf life with a R1 pick using it on a RB; but I am a Saints fan and he's now a Saint...

I wanted Clay Matthews and got Malcolm Jenkins; Matthews has showed to be the better player thus far, but Jenkins was definitely balling at times last year and will get better...I may even get me a Jenkins Jersey...

Would like to have gotten Barksdale out of LSU to replace the Stinch at Right Tackle; but a cornerback when there were better young safeties who could cover for a couple of years would have been better...

Ingram is not Reggie Bush. Reggie's career was based of finesse and shaking the hell out of people. In the NFL, that's a risk to base your drafting on. Ingram runs people over. Way more stable of a chance to succeed.

And while I love that style it's called the NFL (Not For Long) when playing that style...

It's gonna be fun and over in about five years...

True. Eric Metcalf (Cleveland late 80s early 90s) comes to mind. 5 or 6 years and then you never heard about him.

Maverick2299 05-02-2011 08:43 AM

But if in those five years we get another superbowl... it will be well worth a first pick. Also most all RB only last 5 years, unless they are very good. Who knows Ingrim may turn into one of the top RB.

As Ross Tucker stated yeaterday, so what? This has become a 1 contract league. If you get 4 to 6 good years out of a player you're lucky.

After his 1st contract is up he can leave for more money, or the team can try to find someone else of equal value.

We only got 5-1/2 good years out of Deuce and thats fine with me.

Deuce was a stud. I really miss that guy. We gave away a whole draft for RW...Deuce sends him off to Miami. He is tied for 1st as of today as my favorite all-time Saint. However...there are guys on today's roster who could work their way to the top some day.
