Saints getting some attention
Check out the 3rd paragraph in this article.
The Saints pick of Ingram is mentioned further into the article. |
PFT Draft Grades

Quote:
4.62? So he took his slowest time? What about the 4.47 he ran at his proday? What about the blazing fast 10 yard time, which was identical to Adrian Petersons? Either this guy didn't do any homework or he has an axe to grind. |

When it comes down to it, you can give any grade you want. Until you see them play in the pros, you don't know how good they will be. So he was just playing devil's advocate since very one else is praising

and again you have the argument about trading future picks: worked out well with Vilma, so-so for Shockey.
bottom line is that we used next year's first on a guy THIS year. Hard to argue with that. The second (56th) is expensive, but we had the luxury of 2 thirds and ended up getting the guy we wanted at lower price |
Opinions are like *******s, and this dude who wrote the article is one.

I got a feeling about Ingram. I think he is going to be the straw that broke the camel's back for teams in our division and the league...of course, that could change if Reggie leaves. You can only over defend so much of the offense...someone is going to be out there with his hand waving in the air hollering, "Over here, Drew!"
I would love to be Drew Brees right now. |
He gave us a "C"...........We had six picks and they all have possibly great value. Ingram was a no brainer.
|
I bet Sean Payton can't even sleep at night with all the new schemes, formats and scenarios dancing in his head. Payton and Brees with a running game? Let's price some Indy hotels.

Lets recap (of course everything is "on paper" until they actually play)
Our draft The top rated DE (rated #1 by some, #2 by others) at 24 - WOW!!! The top rated RB (a consensus top 20 pick, rated #1 RB by everyone) at 28 (and we threw in #56) - WOW!!! The top rated ILB (rated a 2nd rounder by most) in the 3rd - Excellent!!! The 12th best CB (rated a 3rd rounder) in the 3rd - OK, not great but good. Went about where he should. A potentially 1st/2nd round rated DE who fell due to injuries in the 7th (medical says he'll be healed by TC) - WOW!!! A young and raw tenacious LB who should contribute immediately on special teams in the 7th - good pick for a late 7th. How the above prospects got a C from anyone is laughable. The ONLY way to grade a draft the day after is to examine where they were picked versus where they were projected, how they'll fit the teams that drafted them, and lastly...team needs. Which is debatable if BPA is acknowledged as the best way to build a team over time. |
