A lot is going to depend on how soon the lockout issue is resolved, if very soon, then I expect Mark Ingram to be the opening day starter. Of course, who starts really doesn't matter as long as everyone is healthy. I do vision Ingram being the main ball carrier, say around 15-20 times per game, with PT and Ivory making major contributions in the rotation.

If the injuries do not pile up at the position, I can see the Saints actually challenging for the top spot in team rushing yards. I know those are big words to say with a Brees lead team, but I do believe the Saints will become more run oriented if they have the guys to do it.

Give Brees a top notch running game and he is going to pick defenses apart, and the Saints should be easy favorites to bring home another Super Bowl win.

And he won't be constantly blitzed like last season. Thing is, the run game only has to be average. We had nothing for most of last year.

I can taste it! But still have a hard time believing that somehow Sean Payton is going to give any back 20-25 touches a game, consistently. He has too many counter-reverse-deceptions dancing in his head. He's always, to his credit (most of the time), trying to keep the defenses off balance. The addition of Ingram and a healthy stable of backs will allow him to get back to mastery status with his play calling. 10-15 carries is possible for any of these guys, but not weekly or even on a regular occurrence.

the end of the year and in the playoffs we had no backs left, they were all hurt and with Ingram in the mix being the main guy the possibles are endless on offense

I feel that New Orleans did a smart thing without losing so many draft picks (hello Atlanta) in getting Ingram. I also think that the Saints had a better group of running backs before picking up Ingram than the Patriots had last year. In my opinion, the Patriots screwed this up.

I can.

We'll have plenty of backs this year.
