Lance Moore
|
I would rather Lance any day over Reggie. The guy is a great player I want him to stay with the Saint but I hope the guy gets what he deserve.
|
Hoping we can hang on to him. I really think he is a big key to our "O"
|
He has been integral in our success. We need to resign him, although that depends on matching the amount of money he can get elsewhere. We may need that money on higher priorities.
|
I usually go to MSN first, to see what the sports stories of the day are. So im sitting at my cpu bout to snack on my smorgushbourg of chips and cookies, when what do I see but a big ass pick of Lance Moore on MSN. Literally the first words out of my mouth were OH SH#T! Lance, gotta get resigned get little SP jr on the case. My wife says this funny thing about lance. And though not a football junkie, if she sees it and says it, its usually right. Her Lance saying is if he can't catch it, then it ain't meant to be caught. He's proven her right more than not. Man we got to get this guy under contract before teams start talking to him.

Lance needs to be resigned, we can't let him go anywhere. He's our most consistent WR, we can't keep offering him one year tenders all the time and expect him to stay, that being said I'd rather have lance on the team over reggie anyday.
|
It should be no problem paying him what he's worth. If he wants #1WR money, he can walk, but if he simply wants good #2WR we should be able to sign him easily.
It may end up causing us to lose Devery though. |
Lance is the wife's favorite Saint, I hope they bring him back but I dint blame him wanting more money, he's been low balled the last couple contracts. Let's hope they make a deal since he cathes everything and is Drew's favorite target. I'd take him over Reggie any day
|
NEXT TO COLSTON HE'S THE MOST PRODUCTIVE WR WE HAVE.
|
Tremendous hands, yes. But he is ALSO the best "route-runner" on this team.
When Payton game-plans for Lance, he always has a huge game. IMO, the guy seems to be the most in sync WR with Drew. |

Year after year I've watched them string Lance Moore along: after he lead the team when Colston was out, after the camp torn bicept the SB season, and now a solid #2 without playing every down. He even helped with special teams when Roby went down - much more dependable back there than Reggie. If he ends up unrestricted, we may have to watch him walk. I, for one, would be very disappointed if that happens. If he's still restricted with a 2nd round tender, we need to work a 4 year deal and give him his money...He's earned it. I dread the possibility of us scratching our heads mid-season trying to figure out why certain things aren't working in the offense anymoore. Lance is special in moore ways than one. The front office needs to make this one happen. |
lance stays devery walks or gets traded

He has earned his contract, Period. Every other reciever has had some type issue dropping balls except Lance. I went to the scrimmage just before the start of training camp here in Houston before the 09 season. You woulda thought Brees and Lance were 10 and 11 in age because team practice ends, then organized scrimmage ends. Then Drew and Lance still out there working. It's no way they don't get a big time deal done. Certain people can be replaced and then certain people you just have to admit that they are not easily replaceable. |
I agree dizzle. Last year who did Brees look to when he needed a play? Moore. Moore is consistent and hardly ever drops a ball. It's going to be hard with as many free agents that we have and only so much money to go around.
|
You can't coach great hands and there is no doubt that Moore has great hands.
You can coach bad hands to decent. You can coach decent hands to pretty good. But you can't coach good hands to great hands. This is because you have to have special coordination between the feet, body, arms, eyes and cat like depth preception. Only God can coach that. I'm sure Lance has been catching the ball like that since he was 10. It's kind of like some of us can be taught to sing fairly good but how many can you coach up to be great? The great ones make it looks simple. You either have it or you don't. |
Sign the man and give him his money!
|
hes a piece to our puzzle. its time, give him his sugar loomis.

Lance, Nicks, Harper, Henderson, Gay, Evans, Goodwin, D. Thomas, Shanle, Roby, Hargrove, Torrence, Strief, Young, Bushrod, Charleston, Ayodele, Mitchell, Dunbar, Hartley will all need new deals either in 2011 or 2012.
And oh yeah, we have this QB we'll have to give a pretty big contract to soon. So we can't just give Lance Moore a blank check. Pay him what he's worth, but lets not get carried away. |
Gay may get cut, with Robinson and rookie Patrick there. If bush stays Roby will be gone, Hartley already got signed to a deal before lockout.
Nicks, Lance, Harper are the main priority's. Everyone else I would love to have but it all depends on the contracts for the three big guys. |
Hopefully he ask for something like 20 for 4 years... and counter with 12 for 4(which is Devery Henderson money). Meet in the middle at 16 for 4 amd call it a day. If he's looking for Berrian type money, he can walk or do some sort of sign and trade if possible. I want him to get paid... but not 1 money because he's not that. As effective as he is and being Drew's safety blanket, Colston demanding extra attention plays a big part on the success of our other receivers.
|
hope loomis has majority of these contracts lined up and ready to start hammering out fine tuning them when this thing is ended. looking how many contracts have to be reworked he has his late nights coming. and when boss gets back from having tea with the pope he needs to get his ink pen out.
