Shockey update, (if interested)
|
Sorry about that
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on May 16, 2011, 9:53 PM EDT While he hasn’t tried professional soccer or riding a bull, Panthers tight end Jeremy Shockey found a unique sporting event to try during the lockout. Shockey put together a team to compete in the Drambuie Pursuit race through the Scottish Highlands, according to Kelley Carter of ESPN.com. His group finished fourth out of ten during a 100 mile race that combines white-water rafting, kayaking, mountain climbing and dune-buggy racing. The new Panthers player showed some impressive managerial skills overseas. He sat out the mountain climbing because he says he doesn’t have health insurance. (Smart.) He also picked three distance runners from Texas to join him on the team. (Smarter.) As part of the event, Shockey donated $10,000 to the Heath Evans Foundation. Shockey planned to explore his heritage in Ireland for a while once he was done with the race. He can probably stay past June third if he wants. |
in our offseason he chugged brewskis and came in first at the hospital.lol

I'll always be glad to hear what Jeremy's up to. I'll always be grateful to him for what he did for our city and our Saints. Still love the guy. 'Right up there with Kyle Turley, in my book.

Still can't get used to him not being a Saint anymore!
|
does he not have health insurance because he's considered high-risk?
|
As much as I love this guy I'm more worried about the guys thats still on this team and the guy's that want to be here sorry Shockey I wish the best I know he will do good with Panther's just want be going for you when you play us.
|
I don't care who he's playing for. I'm always going to like Jeremy.
|
I still haven't told my youngest daughter he doesn't play for us anymore. She still pimps around in here Shockey Jersey. She's going to be very sad, I just can't bring myself to break her heart.

By the way, my little girl didn't take it too well either. Besides Drew Brees, Jeremy Shockey was her favorite player. |

Actually...I was never in favor of the Shockey trade...I didn't see the impact that he made on the Saints like others did...I mean he did have his moments but was injured half the time like in NY...and I don't feel like him leaving is going to be a big deal for us as we have young Graham to make everyone forget about JereME...at least those who need it. |

san fran is correct, according to my memory.

I wonder why we couldn't renegotiate his deal so he could stay. I don't even know if we tried. Maybe he and Drew never really got along and were just putting up with each other for coach Payton's sake and his injuries and lack of playing time got the better of him.
