Can someone explain this to me?

One of the keys to the team's rushing success is the unusual scheme used by coordinator Mike McCarthy. It calls for the center to identify a primary target for the fullback at the line of scrimmage before the snap. That designation is the starting point for rest of the line and backs, who then adjust their assignments. Because of the late adjustments, the Saints can run most plays regardless of the defensive alignment, personnel or movement.
I've noticed that McCarthy has been insistant on running the ball no matter how many men the defense has in the box. Seems, he's devised some unique scheme for running the ball. While Deuce has been successful running the ball this year, I think he would have been successful anyway. I think all this scheme has done is take our big play passing game away this year. We rarely ever spread the field and use the pass first approach. Deuce is a great back, but this approach hasn't produced the points like last year. Last night we spread the field and I think we need to do more of that. This offense has the ability to change it's scheme, no matter who we play. I don't think McCarthy is being flexiable enough and he's too insistant on trying to "set something up" later on down the line, when we should come out firing.

Maybe I'm wrong here. Any thoughs?
