I feel the same way some times. What if things are just starting to come together. Again the next two games should tell us something. If we start playing inconsist again Has, should go.

Oh, I have. You and others just choose to focus on \"parts\" of what I say about Brooks. I don\'t know what else to say about Brooks to please some folks. Unless, I call for him to get traded or cut. Then I would need to call him stupid, ignorant, blah, blah, blah, .....

COming into this season, did you NOT say that the defense would get better, that AB would get better, and that Deuce would have another great year? I believe you did. Now, you argue that all of those things happened - what\'s our record? Did all of those things that YOU and even I said needed to happen for the Saints to be good actually make us good? No. So from where I\'m sitting, as long as Haslett is the coach, I\'m going to have a hard time believing that this team will get to the next level. Why? B/c even when they do what they need to in order to get better, they find a way to drop the ball somewhere else (AB pun completely intended) and fall short of the playoffs. So if all of those things that Tweeky thinks need to happen for us to be better next season come true, will we be in the playoffs? Only if all of our strengths this season don\'t turn into weaknesses next season... but as long as Haslett is the coach, I\'ll have a hard time believing that will happen.

I don\'t like to agree with you too often :D , but I do agree with you about Haslett. No matter who we sign, I will have BIG doubts if Haslett WILL get the job done. I THINK he can, if we sign the right players. But, like I said, I think the smart money is on getting a NEW coach. However, as Danno brought up, that could turn into another rebuilding program.

Yeah... it COULD. But it could also turn into a Jon Gruden a la TB Bucs Super Bowl year. This team is stacked with talent. Some smart personnel moves in the offseason and while we might hit some speed bumps in the beginning of the season, I think a good coach could keep us in striking distance and have us making a run at year end.

Yeah, a rebuilding year would suck... BUT... give me a rebuilding year followed by years of competitiveness and playoffs over years and years of squandered talent and mediocrity any time.

Wasn\'t this a re-building year? We revamped the entire defense. If we are in favor of a rebuilding year followed by a year of competitiveness, then we ought to shut up about how things are going this year.

Now, I\'ve been on the get-rid-of-Haz bandwagon this week, but what if we play two more great games and consider this a rebuilding year (let alone make the playoffs)? Should we keep Haz next year then?

I have to agree with Danno, the chance that a new coach will send us into yet another rebuilding year is pretty scary to me. I think it would depend on what coaches we were considering to replace Haz (I\'m sure we could check their track record for purging players when the move in). If we could find a coach that is unlikely to purge a bunch o\' the boys, then I might be in favor of that. This team has too many quality guys to just dump a bunch so we can get a new coach.
