"I don't think I got any interest, really," he said. "Maybe a couple of talks, a little whisper here and there, but I don't think anything serious. When is the last time (someone gave up a first round pick), has that even ever happened? For a guard? Maybe if I was a quarterback, Tom Brady in his prime, maybe."

Those long term discussions with the Saints have not yet occurred, he said.

"No, and I feel like that's the best way to do it right now," he said. "Just be back to football, be back with my teammates and focus on the task at hand and that's win the Super Bowl."

He has a good head on his shoulders and that's a great attitude to have.

I think Nicks knows how the Saints feel about him and he knows they'll take care of him once all this new stuff shakes out. Good for him, that's the kind of attitude this team is known for. Props big guy.

Important to get him into camp but lets lock him up long term.
