It's the Fan's Fault

Ever wondered why the Saints are the worst team in the history of the NFL? (and we are) I think the reason that the saints are perrinial losers is because of the fans. That's right it's the fan's fault.

Think about it. Tom Benson and every owner before him had the best business situation in the world. They could put a bad product on the field and the fans still loved them anyway. The owners still made their money. When the team has a losing season, all Benson has to do is slap a "new and improved" label on the product (no better ingrediants were added though) and the fans flocked to buy more of the product.

If you bought a car and that car was a lemon, would you rush right back out to buy that same model? Maybe the salesman might convince you that the problems had been corrected and you might give it one more try. But to keep buying a car that has not performed for 37-years would be a bit excessive......wouldn't you think? For the car manufactuer it would be a great deal though. No matter what the problem with the car, there would never be any need to recall the cars and fix the problems. The customer would just wait for next years model and hope they finally fixed the problem.

I think Benson is a genius. We are the suckers. We buy the product, year after year, even though it hasn't ever worked. I think we have pointed the finger at the wrong people all these years. It's no one's fault but our own. We even go to message boards and try to figure out how to fix the product. I have this strange feeling that the fan's work harder at solving the problems than the actual folks that get paid to do it.

In a lot of ways the Saints are exactly like buying a defective car. The ride starts out great and it looks like smooth sailing, but when it get's you almost where you are going, then it starts back-firing and leaves you stranded on side of the road with your thumb out trying to hitch a ride.

It's time we Saints fan make a stand. Should we support another team? The closest one's are Atlanta, Dallas, and Huston. What do you think? ;) I don't even think the word "fan" can be associated with the Saints. I prefer the term "lifer" I've been serving most of my childhood and all of my adult life, wih little hope of getting out on parole. Maybe the only way out is a jail-break!!

like the line in An Officer and a Gentleman:

\"Why don`t you just quit !?! \"
\" Cause I don`t have any place else to go!\"

That`s kinda where I am, I can`t pick another team.(i know you were j/k)
One day, hopefully in my life time, The Saints are gonna bring that trophy home to N.O. and I`m gonna be there to witness the biggest fiesta in the history of the world.

We`re real close now. I`m all for giving Haz one more year at it. I don`t want to suffer thru another regime change when we`re this close to being a top contender. Our beaten-up defense early in the season and Brooks highlights of dumbassness cost us this season. I`m willing to put what we have right now up against 16 more games. What do you think?

Being a Saints fan is like being a drunk. While your drunk (they\'re winning) you feel great, when you wake up the next morning hungover and with Phyllis Diller instead of Raquel Welch you feel terrible. The only thing you have to look forward to is you know you\'re going to feel better at some point in time. (There\'s always next year.)

Could have done without the Phyllis Diller visual.......the laugh alone is enough...

And you wonder why I\'m not optimistic that things will change?
