Will you be satisfied with anything less than a Super Bowl victory this year?

I won't. We have the tools. We have the talent. There is no reason we should not be there lifting the trophy. I feel we have our window and it is now. Long gone are the days where just making the playoffs was the goal. We are in it to win it all. If we don't do it now, we may not have another chance. We lose in the first round I will be pissed. We lose the NFCCG I will be disappointed. We lose the Superbowl I will be aggravated. I want a SB victory. I think we will get one.

I just hope Olin doesn't break someones jaw..lol

FinSaint 08-06-2011 04:22 AM

I think that I would be content with the NFC championship 'cos the SB is a completely different animal compared to all other games, so anything can happen in that game. But with just a season removed of winning it all, I would think that the Saints will have the edge mentally against any other team they would face. And if it is Bill & Tom who the Saints face in the SB, then I hope big Shaun shows Brady what it really is like to be injured.

dizzle88 08-06-2011 06:12 AM

No, I want another super bowl right now.
All this talk about Mark Ingram looking real good and the massive additions to our defense are getting me too excited not to think otherwise than a super bowl win.
I can't wait to see us hit the field again!

Ashley 08-06-2011 07:22 AM

First I just want to go through the year with a healthy team.

neugey 08-06-2011 07:30 AM

Continuing to be a winning organization is the most important thing to me. Showing you can make the playoffs again indicates that we're a club winning consistently. Once we get to the post-season I start thinking about SB.

Euphoria 08-06-2011 07:36 AM

With all the moves and excitment... this is probably the most complete team we have ever had.

The problem about setting expectations is that you don't get to enjoy the little things... the winning of games week in and week out. After all we are suppose to win right? Big deal we one a play off game we are suppose to win and get to the SB right.

After all the years of being a fan... I still do what I did back in the day. Just enjoy the week as it is just one game at a time. Enjoy each point, each play and be happy Monday morning and get ready for next week.

So I'll be happy when the team shows up to play game one.

Srgt. Hulka 08-06-2011 07:57 AM

If we absolutly play our best all season, limit our injuries, and beat the Falcons twice, I'll be ok with that. If we get into the playoffs and get beat by an obviously better team, I'll be ok with that, I'll be very dissapointed, but I know we played our best. If we get into the playoffs and pull another Seattle, then yes, I'll be pissed. A game like that is inexcusable.

jeanpierre 08-06-2011 07:59 AM

After all those years of watching Archie run for his life...

...watching Bum Phillips trade away picks and talent for his ole' Houston boys, Mora percentage playing in the late 80's through the early 90's being second in the league to only San Fran...

...watching the Buddy D/Ditka experiment geaux bad along with a magazine cover that signals the decline of civilization...

then, then, then the Jim Haslett/Aaron Brooks equivalent of the Kobayashi Maru Scenario...

No, we must win another Lombardi...

...and then we'll worry about next season

papz 08-06-2011 08:20 AM

I'd be okay with a deep, hard fought playoff run. As long as we put it all on the table, I'll be okay with whatever the results are.

LBCutta 08-06-2011 09:08 AM

I think last season our expectations were so high. From the first preseason game we were saying TWO DAT. Jumping from PS game 1 overlooking 18 or so games right to the big dance. You can't do that. Too much football in between. I hate to say it but I think our players did the same thing. The lost to Seattle is the best thing that could have happened to us coming into this season. I think the team as well as the fans are hungry again. One game at a time fellas.

That's exactly right, and...

Thank you for the avatar :)

I know the answer is supposed to be "No". But the truth is, I will always love The New Orleans Saints, no matter what. I will always be thankful for another Saints season, and the opportunity to be alive to see it. Basically, today I'm alive and there is Saints football. I'm satisfied.

lumm0x 08-06-2011 11:53 AM

Exactly. When the Saints won the Super Bowl the first words out of my mouth were "this team never has to win another game in my lifetime". I too think we have the roster, the leadership and the heart to go after another this season. As long as this team competes their best every game I am happy.

foreverfan 08-06-2011 12:27 PM

One Game at a Time.

FireVenturi 08-06-2011 03:09 PM

Super Bowl or Bust......bottom line. Take no prisoners!!!

Danno 08-06-2011 03:16 PM

I'm spoiled. Barring key or excessive injuries I fuly expect the Saints to win it all. Anything less will leave me a bit cold.

We are more talented than any team in this league. To not win the Superbowl would be underachieving.

Rugby Saint II 08-06-2011 03:46 PM

I won't be satisfied with anything less than another Lombardi this year. And we had better follow that up with another one by repeating. This team can take the pressure. Just win baby!

Maverick2299 08-06-2011 03:58 PM

With the team we have now, I believe we should get to the Superbowl every year.

We are no longer in a complete re-building phase.

Anything less will be a disappointment.

saintfan 08-06-2011 04:28 PM

At this red hot moment I am satisfied to simply have the game. We were precariously close to not having the NFL.

We have a good team...potentially a very good team. At this point a playoff run, I suppose, would satisfy me. Still, as the season progresses, and should we live up to our potential, there may come a point where only the Super Bowl would satisfy.

We'll see. I'm just happy to have the NFL this season and am enjoy the fact that I know my Saints will be competitive again.

Memnoch_TP 08-06-2011 04:37 PM

Not winning the Super Bowl, not getting to the Super Bowl, even not getting to the playoffs... None of this takes away anything from what this team has accomplished and I will always cherish the memories of watching us win the Super Bowl on Bourbon St.

Even so, that doesn't mean that I don't have high expectations for this talented team, and I will certainly not be satisfied with anything but a Super Bowl win. That won't stop me from loving the Saints even if they don't win it all, but yes, I will certainly be disappointed.

This. I'd love to win the SB this year. I think we have a great shot. But if we can at least start a tradition of a team you can almost count on being in the playoffs every year that is something that attracts winners. Look at Nnamdi for example. He said one of his biggest attractions to the Eagles was that they are winners. They haven't won a SB but they are winners and have a tradition of winning and playoff appearances.

Saint_LB 08-06-2011 06:58 PM

I want another SB...I really want to beat the crap out of Atlanta, too.

QBREES9 08-06-2011 10:09 PM

Super Bowl WIN or bust !!!

jeanpierre 08-07-2011 12:03 AM

2009 Season was like this...

...we kept winning and winning and winning...

...waiting for someone to pop the proverbial balloon...

...then that last three games we lost and the naysayers reminded us of Ghosts of Saints Past...

...Arizona and MVP Kurt Warner arrived and Reggie went off and we moved on into the playoffs...

...then we stopped MVP Brett Favre and the "favored" Vikings in the final minute of the game...

...then MVP Peyton Manning, son of Archie, leading the Colts down the field, then...

...we woke up and we were Superbowl Champions...

...now we want to do it again, with full awareness, enjoying every single victory from the beginning...

...kind of like riding a rollercoaster for the first time with your eyes shut - only you want to do it again with your eyes wide open...

alleycat_126 08-07-2011 05:48 AM

Another playoffs run is good. A deep run is probably best for my sanity as a Saints fan. I don't think I can watch them blow another game like Seattle. Means were are a winning organization who is in the playoffs every year, with a chance to get to the BIG DANCE. This get to the Super Bowl or bust this season is Madness. I'm surprised you haven't thrown yourself in the Mississippi. Patriots don't go to the Super Bowl every year. They are a great organization. They get to the playoffs and then they let the players decide how deep they go. And that should be our way off doing business. Let's get that good seed first and then talk about what needs to be done to get the party started.

leilung 08-07-2011 07:36 AM

In a word: NO

Once you've taken a drink of the sweet nectar of victory, nothing else tastes as sweet! Lombardi or Bust. Simple as that.

So, wait, you are trying to convince me that the Pats fans don't have Super Bowl expectations every year and don't feel disappointed when they don't win it all?

You have a better chance of convincing me that Jesus loves me and the moon is made of green cheese.

strato 08-07-2011 12:01 PM

Were going so all this irrelevant..

2 dat!!

homerj07 08-07-2011 08:11 PM

Health!!
If we stay healthy we win games
If we win games we go to the playoffs & from there...

Well anything can happen!

Maverick2299 08-07-2011 08:14 PM

We need to win an away game in the playoffs. If we can do that we will go to the super bowl.

Now with Atlanta getting really good and the Bucs on the up and up.

I hope we get Home field through out the playoffs

alexonfyre 08-07-2011 09:23 PM

I don't care about the super bowl. I want to win Week 1 against the Packers.

the-commish 08-07-2011 09:53 PM

The Saints need to win another Superbowl, preferably XLVI in Indianapolis.

That would send all the Falcons' fans into a super stupor; and that would be so much fun to watch and listen to.
