Saints Practice Report: Arrington missing out on chances
Bradley Handwerger / WWLTV.com Sports Writer
METAIRIE, La. ― Devery Henderson ran a perfect route and caught an easy pass from Drew Brees late in Saturday’s practice. A few play later, Robert Meachem leapt high to make a highlight-reel grab in traffic. And Adrian Arrington? He wasn’t on the field. Ankle injury. Not exactly Arrington needs to be doing in this, his last chance to make a full roster after spending the previous two seasons on the practice squad after missing his rookie season on injured reserve. It’s certainly not what he needs to be doing when several undrafted rookie free agents are on his tail for the fifth receiver position – that is, should Saints coach Sean Payton keep a fifth receiver. Jarred Fayson and Joe Morgan are having good camps and have every chance at this point to pass Arrington. Full report here. Saints Practice Report: Arrington missing out on chances | wwltv.com New Orleans *I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: running back Mark Ingram is going to impress a lot of people this year. *Ditto for receiver Devery Henderson, whom people have questioned because of his consistency. *I think fans that haven’t been to practice are going to love running back Darren Sproles. A lot. :bng::itsgood: |
Adrian Arrington isn't almost always hurt. Does he want to play or what.
|
I say cut him and bring in Fayson (who apparently has some minor injury too).
I'm just tired of hearing about how AA has a lot of talent and upside, but never is able to bring it to the big show...whatever the reasons may be. |
I was really high on this kid because he looked like a diamond in the rough, however if it says that the two other guys are having good camps then this is my view
Arrington has had enough chances, he is good when he played, but that was 1 game out of 32 possible games. I would say stick with those two other WR's over him, his injury list is frustrating me. Man i cant wait to see our Running game, Ingram is going to be such a good player, they say he's impressing everybody. cant wait to see what Darren Sproles can do, little guy with a big chip on his shoulder, runs between the tackles really well for his size and has great speed. lets start the season already! |
And so many of you dummies wanted him to replace Henderson.
|
I think it's time to cut ties with Arrington.....need someone in there that is going to compete.

I mean Meachem's 40-yard dash is supposedly 4.40 while AA's is 4.50 according to the scouting reports I've seen. Not that there's a big difference, but nevertheless Meachem is supposedly faster disregarding all the injuries to AA. |
Meachum and Henderson are both some of the fasted dudes on the team.

All 3 offer something Arrington doesn't. Special Teams. |

*Don’t be surprised if somewhere down the line, maybe even after Friday’s preseason opener, we’re talking about a Shaun Roger-Aubrayo Franklin starting interior with Sedrick Ellis coming in on short yardage and given passing downs. That’s not a knock on Ellis; it’s more a nod at the run-stopping ability of Rogers and Franklin.*
I spoke with Franklin a little while he was signing autos yesterday. I welcomed him to town. His reply was "Man, thanks. I am happy to be here. I WANT to play with this team". Sounds like he understands his opportunity to play with a winner. Shaun Rogers also signed Sat. Our D-line is MAN-SIZED! |
Time for the AA project to come to an end. Too many injuries. I think he reminds the Who Dat's a lot of Joe Horn as far as Body Frame, etc, which is why we still have supported him.

And I know Arrington has a higher ceiling... But you know what, if Arrington, like Casillas, can't get right, and if Devery has finally figured things out... ...let the best man win the job, do his part as we follow the Lombardi Brick Road! |
Who is A.A?.

At least when I used it, he was who I had in mind. |

YO !!!! Adrian , you can't make this club if your in the tub.
|
Always been high on him making the team, but I will have to agree with y'all. Might be time to let him go, and plug in someone else.
|
But he was so impressive returning kicks last year!

He will get cut, but he will find another team...or maybe come back later if a WR goes down.

If you don't play you not gonna stay!!
|
Is this guy gonna make a career on the practice squad or what? He's had three years right? It's past time to move on. Thanks for the memories...
|
I think it's time to move on from Arrington, let some of these younger/healthier guys fight for it.
