If you look at ages of Qb's I highly disagree... Most quarterbacks do well into their mid thirties... Look at the past of the NFL and you will see many that were very productive at 35-36. I was researching several sites and they say that the average age for Quarterback's to retire in the NFL is 38... and theres more than just Brett Farve that have been productive.. I can think of 2 Warren Moon look what he was doing in his later years. Vinny Testerverde..So Get ready Air Drew still has alot left in him..

GEAUX SAINTS!!!!!!

#4 Everyone is undefeated in August; and even Bengals fans actually believe they can turn the corner; then we play the games; the Bucs had a last place schedule last season - now what happens when you get beat up every week? the Panthers have a rookie quarterback, new coach, new scheme with no offseason due to the lockout - how's that working for you know Mr. Richardson? The Falcons traded nearly their entire draft to add a complementary receiver that should be great - but it cost them in other areas - and their chief rival, the Saints, found out this week that they have three starting cornerbacks with more help on the way...and, the Falcons, though they choked last season, have the 1st place schedule...

#3 The Saints linebackers could always use an upgrade; but how good are they gonna be with the Heavy Lunch Bunch now occupying blockers? Did you take that into account when assessing Shanle and other linebackers gameplay last season(s)?

#2 Did you forget Drew Brees took a cheap-shot early in the season to his knee and only after offseason sx and rehab did he disclose his injury affected his planting motion while throwing?

#1 The Saints added an early first round grade running back to its stable of runners; replaced Reggie Bush with a near clone of itself; allowed its down and distance running back time to get healthy; and lo and behold Coach Payton has found yet another diamond-in-the-rough at RB during training camp.

This was too easy...

Good post wth good points. The original artickle wasn't that shabby thou.

The points were all valid - He even says he is normally optimistic, PLUS - It is a free country he is still entitled to an opinion.

Rememebr opinions are like a--holes. Everyone has one & all of them stink!!

Criticizing Drew for being 32??!! That's 3 years younger than Peyton Manning who is recovering from neck surgery and 2 years younger than Tom Brady who missed a year because of knee surgery. Are they dissing them also?

I think there's only thing to fear.

Key or excessive injuries, and I won't mention his name.

Nothing else is an acceptable excuse for not being one of the best teams in the league in 2011. There is NO reason to be pessimistic about the 2011 Saints.

I don't like the article and wish I wouldn't have read it. While some points are valid it just seemed stupid. I mean I understand that there some things the Saints have question marks on but overall this team is strong and primed for a SB run. There is always something you can ***** about but when a team is looking ad good as this one, what's the point?

It's like the guy doesn't want to get his hopes up too high for a great team because he doent want to be let down. So he comes up with mediocre (at best) reasons to believe this season will be a failure.

I'm excited about this team and this year and I'm not going to sit back and try to come up with reasons to not to be excited. And yes, I've been there through the losing seasons and the huge let downs and the "bag" days (I refuse to use term associated with those bags). I'm not going to sell myself short this year. I think we got what it takes to go to the SB or at least a deep playoff run. Sorry, I'm not selling my team short this year for fear of failure.

Why on earth would you come up with a list of things to whine about your own team?

Are you a closet Falcons fan? A plant?

;^p

Here is my list of reasons.

None.
Nada.
Zip.
Null Set.
No reason to be pessimistic at all.
