Lance Moore's deal with New Orleans Saints worth up to $21.5 million
We've finally tracked down the numbers on receiver Lance Moore's new contract with the New Orleans Saints. The five-year deal is worth $20 million, plus another $1.5 million in incentives.
He received a $3 million signing bonus, and a total of $7 million is guaranteed. Moore's scheduled base salaries are $2 million in 2011 and 2012, $2.5 million in 2013 and $3.1 million in 2014 and 2015. He's also due to receive roster bonuses of $1.5 million in 2012, $500,000 in 2013 and 2014, and $1 million in 2015. And he's due to receive workout bonuses of $200,000 in each year between 2012-2015. He'll earn an extra $100,000 every time he surpasses 65, 70 and 75 receptions per year. Lance Moore's deal with New Orleans Saints worth up to $21.5 million | NOLA.com |

Thats a lot of money. WHat does Colston's conract look like.
I would like to see overall smaller pay & have a greater incentive structure - that way you don't pay a player for what they DID as opposed to what they actually do!! |
Good for Lance. That was one AWESOME catch during the Super Bowl Win. He came up HUGE !!!

I believe it's safe to go out and buy a #16 Moore Saints jersey now.

I think they kept promising to take care of Moore while offering those 1 year tenders. I'm glad he was patient enough to wait for them to keep their word. Good for Lance. I don't see his production falling off either; his routes are too crisp and his hands are just too sticky. If Colston keeps hobbling around or experiences continued aches and pains, Moore's numbers will really be good. We hope Colston is 100% and we have a stable 5 man rotation for Brees to pick and choose...add Graham/Thomas and the backs out of the backfield - DAMM! |
He earned every penny.

I think paying players for what they DID do is a solid incentive for them to play harder when they are looking for a contract, if something catastrophic happens and he gets hurt for a season, I would hate for him to lose out on a ton of money considering what he had already accomplished for us for less money.
